Both look great but COD4 is technically much more impressive.

Technically more impressive...really?! I would've thought Bioshock held that down by far over COD4.

I recently beat COD4 all over again 2 days ago and i have Bioshock and played that also over the past weekend, and now seeing the games after time has passed...Bioshock still stands up graphically to games being released now, and COD4 has bland textures up close, and just not much detail with in-game pictures, and video clips that play in-game. Look at the water on mission Crew Expendable, and look at it in Bioshock...

Bioshock was mostly dark and small closed areas. COD4 on the other hand has huge landscapes and far more character models out at once. Bioshock should have an edge with textures because of the smaller environments and the UT3 engine tends to load sharper textures as it plays.

I stand by COD4 is the technically more impressive game.

I gotta give this round to bioshock

Come on folks, we need more votes!

That is impossible. The style of both games are way too different...

I played and enjoyed both ... my vote will go for Bioshock.

... but I don't find the comparaison very relevant (the good point is that they are both multiplateform games, so the PS3 fanboys flood vote should be moderate too..).

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

I don't know man, I find comparing games that are similar quite boring...a comparison like this really makes you think and consider all the different aspects in order to determine which is the overall better looking game. For me, comparing games like Bioshock to COD4 is much more fun than doing a comparison like COD4 vs Battlefield: Bad Company. Sure, both have similar art styles and take place in open landscapes, but it's not a very exciting comparison. Hope you get my point.

I do, and it is a good point.

Bioshock twice !

Tough call, both games have their flaws and neither is a true graphics showcase IMHO.

CoD4 looks great for character models and the core play area but the physics is crap, there are invisible walls all over the place, backgrounds quickly reveal the limits of the playing level, etc.

Bioshock lighting and levels are great, but character models are iffy, animation is stiff too and I actually felt the engine ran a little sluggish for what it was displaying - some levels and rooms were pretty weak too. Some levels also had poor backgrounds too.

However, Bioshock leans heabily to combat but has weaker FPS and the engine, while nicely used for the Art Deco style, doesn't deliver the experience for combat I think it should. And while CoD4 I feel has plenty of little graphical weaknesses, it does achieve 60fps and it feels like any compromises were made to maintain that.

So CoD4... just.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Both are amazing games from a graphic and gameplay points of view.

but if I have to decide which one, it will be bioshock just because I hate short play time.

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Bioshock

Well I have both game installed in my high end PC and I can tell Bioshock is better looking than CoD4 hands down.....from water effects to vibrant colors etc.
