No, they stay under "downloads" from your PSN account and can be re-downloaded. Just did it.

^^ All games can be redownloaded up to 5 times, or you can use the backup facility to retrieve them and save yourself a download.

i suppose you could even transfer your HDD to a new different PS3 anyway.

I just traded in my 60GB for a slim. Originals have been breaking left and right. Sorry about your loss. $150 to repair.

(I figured...$160 trade-in value of 60GB and $300 for slim meant $140 out of pocket. Beats $150 for any future repair.)

my launch 60 gig must be driving straight down the road of happiness and not taking any left or right turns since i have never had a problem. I swear most of these RRoD and YLoD threads are bullshit who the hell would ask a forum for advice when you can call the manufacturer.

People who want a response other than "Give us money and send it in?" There are ways to try to deal with the YLOD problem. I have tried it the past weekend. It's still not working completely properly yet, but I'm going to wait and see if the upcoming system update fixes the current problem (the system starts up fine, but attempting to play a disk or a downloaded game starts to load but then sits there with a blank screen and no sound). If not, I'll try reflowing the GPU again.

Giving it to Sony wouldbe a guaranteed way of getting a working machine back, but I have heard a few conflicting reports on if you'll get the same model, so sometimes you can lose your save data if you don't have it backed up.

Just to let everyone know I have phoned sony and they will give me a brand new 60 gig for £128 (odd number)

Now i just need to magically make £128 appear

Consoles I own: Dreamcast, PSP

I got my repairs for free outside of warranty because I had a launch unit, I'm UK.

Guess I got lucky. :P

yeah a rare thing that needs to be attended though...and btw just contact Sony..
