Nature provides a very clear boundary for us (ie puberty). The optimum age for childbirth is in the last years of the bodies developement, typically 15-18.

However modern culture has to take more into acount than just nature, things like finicial support are key factors.

In an ideal world the boundary would be puberty and people would only have famalies when they could support them. Since this is not going to happen I would say around 16 is the sensible age of consent.

Since you admitted how old you were I will do the same. I was 15 when I had my first sexual experiance.

I heard about that tribe a long time ago, took me a while to find anything about them, though. Children can learn whatever you teach them, and they can just as easily find things out for themselves. I believe that a child should be given as much leeway to discover their own feelings and preferences as possible, with the parent acting primarily as an all-function dictionary/bodyguard. But, I will NEVER, EVER have kids, so I won't know if that's the right way to raise them or not.

As such, I don't really care when someone decides they want to start having sex. As long as they already know the potential consequences and how to avoid them, fine.
