If I were a Nintendo CEO then I would sit on my laurels and do nothing...the casuals are my sheep, and my fields are full of beautiful green grass for them to eat, business is booming, and profits are soaring.

What is that you say about locust, bah, we are immune to it, and just like Jupiter's mass gravitation pull protects earth from asteroids, Sony protects us from locust.

What is that you say about Sony getting back in the game cuz of the price cut, hahaha don't make me laugh, my sheep are a loyal to me, and before you even ask, Microsoft are the helots and we are the Spartans...and if you know history you know how controls who, krypteia FTW!!!

What is that you say about back up plan?, No, their is no back up plan for a revolt from the helots or a resurgence of Sony, do you know why?
We don't need one ever, we rule, and unlike any large kingdom, ours will not collapse...if you persist with your blasphemous questions I will have you executed.

Yes this power is awesome and none shall rob me of it, NONE!!! -[Satoru Iwata]

I'd work on making some of the the more time-intensive genres more accessible.

Final Fantasy VII was able to give the RPG phobic the experience that those gamers were unable to see in the 8-bit and 16-bit games.*

So if Nintendo made an RPG more accessible (find a way to not make following the story and gameplay so time intensive for one), they could actually make a game that tops Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy.

Or an accessible FPS. As many have mentioned, Halo and Gears are more accessible than many FPS before them, and even before that, Goldeneye and Doom were pretty simple to get into.

Imagine Nintendo finding a way to make an FPS for everybody (or damn close).

* This is coming from an RPG player from the NES and SNES, so I'm not trying to put those down. I actually put Chrono Trigger as my top RPG, Super Mario RPG in my top 5, and Crystalis (NES version only) in my top 5 action RPGs.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Teh Wii is doomedz!

I like Bacon said:
It would be nice if Nintendo released a black Wii and controllers.

I think it may be possible for them to do Players Choice games. If not this year, then definitely next year. They could drop prices of games released in the first year, year and a half of the Wii to start off with. It would boost sales of the games and the Wii.

Much smarter choice for Nintendo to do these options first before thinking about a $50 price drop IMO.

This. The Players Choice line would be great for games like SMG, SSBB, REUC, Twilight Princess, etc. And new colors would do better than a price cut.

for one the wii isnt doomed and second they will counter if the sales of both the ps3 and 360 stay consistant for the rest of the year. otherwise if they decide to do something it will either be like everyone else said a new bundle, the additions of colors or a price cut. if one of those happends then sony and microsoft would be right back to where they were last month.

I figured a $50 price cut as well, though that might be stretching it.

Either way, not much is going to change. The 360 is cutting its price, the PS3 is pulling out the Slim, and yet, neither one are going to keep the sheer upward trend that would be needed to defeat the Wii. I doubt the PS3 is going to even come close to 360 numbers by the sheer fact that it's an 8 million unit difference. Sure, they'll gain some ground over the next few months but there's not going to be a change either way.

No, I think Nintendo is just fine and will remain so. I mean, between Wii and DS sales, they're making over $70m a week just on hardware which amounts to a decent profit margin. For that kind of dough, they can afford to sit back, relax and do whatever they want to.

I don't think that the Wii needs a price cut. I do like the idea of a WSR & WM+ bundle because it would help introduce people to WM+. New colors are always great and Nintendo always does it anyway. I expect a gold Wii for Zelda Wii release.

However, even better idea: Throw money at Capcom and release the black wii + MH3 bundle in time for Christmas.
