Forums - Sony Discussion - Metal Gear Solid 4 is the best game I've ever played!

Man I highly regret not playing MGS1,2 and 3. I bought MGS4 and finished it many time. Best game I played this gen hands down. However I need to play the first 3 to fill the holes that I don't understand. When MGS1 releases on PSN I'll be getting it straight away because I don't want to miss out on the best series ever.

I thought I saw MGS1 on PSN already when I bought FFVII

Currently Playing:  Saints Row 2 | Battlefield 2 | Company of Heroes

Recently Beaten: Gears of War | Super Mario Galaxy | Darwinia | MGS4 | Sam and Max Ep. 4, Portal | Mirror's Edge | Uncharted | Mass Effect

Looking Forward to: Alan Wake | Splinter Cell : Conviction | The Last Guardian | Batman: Arkham Asylum | SMG2 | Mass Effect 2 |

The best game ever made. The game is as close to perfection as I have ever seen in a video game. It completely sucks you in. Every moment in it is enjoyable. I could honestly go on for ten paragraphs about how amazing this game is, but I think the critical appraise and awards that it received speak for themselves.

Snake went out like a fucking hero.

I feel enlightened to buy a PS3 now.

^You should! when you get some extra cash pick one up and try the game out. Or find a friend that has it. I just wish the game was longer.

My friend just told me that he bought it for his PS3. I'll be sure to give it a try when I get over there.

I'm a bit late in joining in this thread but I couldn't resist echoing the praise others have for this game. It's the best game I have played (I haven't played MGS3 yet ) and although Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 may have this beat on graphics now I still think that the production values in this game are second to none. You can see so much work has gone into the game and not only does it look great and play great but it has so many epic moments. There are times I actually wanted to put the controller down and just watch what was going on, the motorbike chase and the Raiden/Vamp fight for example. The end battle is probably one of the greatest moments in any video game (IMO of course). First time round I played it in SD and now I have a HD tv I think another play through is on the cards.

That's what I did a lot of the times I'd put the controller down to watch and watch the cut scenes, but every now and then I'd have to push X or L1 and I'd be rushing to get the controller, Hideo keeps you on your toes lol

@Sabby_e17, Metal Gear Solid is already on the PSN.

yeah one of the only games to make me cry

I think I'll buy the MGS Collection on PS2. Just to see what the hype's about. Plus I like a story with tons of twists.

lol you like a story with a lot of twist? and you haven't tried MGS yet!? your going to be in for a good ride :)

I bought the essentials (MGS1,2,3) for like 20 bucks, you should be able to get it just as cheap online.
