Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Do you use HDMI or Composite?

Composite is the worst kind of connection you can use, as it can't even carry a HD signal. I guess a lot of people aren't using HDMI because the uptake of HDTVs isn't that high, or because they're using component instead. If there are people out there with HDTVs that are using a composite cable, well they're missing out on one of the main benefits of the console - HD graphics.

I think anyone with HD TV knows this. The first time you plug in your cable box on your new LCD Tv you learn this...

All xboxes except the arcade cmoe with component which gives you HD graphics so no one is missing out on anything.

Hold on. Whats going on here? Why are people doing this HDMI praise now?

If you need one you can get one under 10 bucks anywhere.

Component cables do 1080p and infact have same picture as HDMI. You lose sound quality of you have 5.1 with component and thats it.

But picture wise...component cables and HDMI...= SAME SHIT!!!!

does the new elite not come with components?

Thanks dis.

And yes it does.

I use VGA to upscale to 1080p resolution, of course its not 1080p, but fits my screen perfectly.

Above I'm a proud Gran Turismo fan, not a Sony fanboy, and now a proud 360 owner, but sharing xbox live accts ATM

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.

Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)

End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):

Wii: 81 mil  360: 47 mil PS3: 45 mil

I use component.

I've tried both component and HDMI and as far as I can tell there's no difference at all. I'll even take some close up photos if someone wants to dispute that.

It's only a small Samsung so it might be the hardware's fault of why there's no difference.

You're not missing out anything cause xbox upscales everything to 1080p. HDMI, component or VA...

I am lost here :(.
Am I getting 1080 or not.
It says I am and it looks excellent so wtf.

Thats becuase HDMI usually optimizes for a TV. Composite you may have to adjust a little...but its the same i you diddle with settings.

I use the digital input for my surround so that shouldnt affect me at all then.
Thanks again disolitude.
You are a rock of sense in a puddle of shit. LOL
