WTF is with hype for this game?

Ok, so batman has a decent game...big deal. I havent seen anything great or original in this thus far.
This game threads on ideas that the first splineter cell had and ads predictable beat em up elements.

Coutner! Counter!

Give me a break...

thank you.finally some one with some sense.

I have played the game for 2 hours now and it's extremely average to me.like 7/10 .if it doesn't get any better i will sell it cause it's rather boring me.

so Wtf you guys think its a good or bad game? worth the buy or should i just wait for a better game?
i have alot of games that i didn't finish so... i can wait. alot.

Buy it. If you like good games, you will like this game. Put it on hard for more of a challenge. The story is amazing and so is the atmosphere. If thats your sort of thing, this is a fantastic game.

I've never been interested in Batman themed games, but I played this at my friends house last night and it is pretty sweet. I only got 1.5 hours in, so I don't know about game of the year, but if it gets any better than it is in the intro, it could be a contender. The fighting style is awesome, I like the cinematicness of it, the graphics are pretty amazing, and the Joker is Mark Hamil! Whats there not to love!

Also!! If you live in Canada, go get the game before the 27th is over and you get a sweet deal. http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10123505&catid=24358 . It's going for 38.83 right now!

Rent it...unless you're in Canada, then 38 dollars may be a good deal. You can trade it for that much in a month if you don't like it...

I don't know what some of these people are smoking saying story is amazing cause story is standard comic book stuff. There may be a crazy twist more than 2 hours in but thus far its standard sandbox story setup. Joker alowed Batman to capture him and took over arkham asylum. And you have to get him buy following missions on the map...missions that include solving clues and riddles, beating up inmates or doing some basic stealth/platforming. I think a lot of people are confusing good story with good presentation, which is top notch.

Mark Hamil does voice joker and does him very well. He's quite entertaining...

darn, Toys r us have this $20 gift card for Batman but only has the X360 version left as the PS3 version is completely sold out. I am tempted but I am just going to wait for Batman to drop in price a little before picking up the PS3 version. Joker is too much to resist

Im very tempted to pick this game up tomorrow, especially since its 39$ until sunday!

Batman is not a GOTY contender. Do you know why? Because it just isn't. It will either be Modern Warfare 2, Uncharted 2 or Assassins Creed 2.

I'm at the "Poison Ivy" fight, and this game DELIVERS! It starts good and gets better!! It gets an 8.5/10, so far. I'm already plotting my 2nd playthrough. It's a Batman wet-dream. And the game is very diverse, too.

disolitude never mentions the gadgets, riddles, unlockables, detective work, boss fights, techniques, easter eggs, or story. Just the fact that you can counter a bad guy's moves with one button. That doesn't even work against many enemies. The game is very well made, and I don't think there's too much more that the developers could have added. It's like having a new Metal Gear!

Well if you look at this post you will see that disolitude says:

"missions that include solving clues and riddles, beating up inmates or doing some basic stealth/platforming."

The whole upgrade system is so basic. Buying these categories which give you new strengths/gadgets. It would be nice if it had an XP system.

And detective work is beyond retarded...night/heat vision solves every crime scene. "Ooo...he left a flask, follow his alcohol trail."

Obviously there will be boss fights...I didn't think id have to mention this. Every game has these days you know.

I didn't get to Ivy yet and maybe game gets all inventive all of a sudden but I stand by my rant. Watered down splinter cell beatemup hybrid.
