Are you US based Slimebeast? Cause the excitement for PS3 slim here in NA has been minimal so far. Hell, they are already selling it at HMV next to my work and got plenty...most of the people are not biting yet.

I don't know about Europe as I don't live there, but NA won't go to PS3 this year.

You can quote ME on that.

Japan will be a 360 raping though...

No, Im European based, but I dont know the temperature here in Sweden when it comes to Slim. But history tells us that Europe loves PS3.

Look, the guy above, bigdome, believes PS3 Slim will double in Sep NPD USA from 220K last year. So compared to that 380K is almost conservative.

(Btw, I hope you are right about the US temperature)

Hard to believe that the PS3 will sell nearly 7 million consoles from Sept through the end of the year. Looking back to 2007; last time the PS3 got a $100 cut and a non recession year, the PS3 sold about 4.5 million that year while the 360 did about 4.8 million. Last year the PS3 did less than 4.4 million and the 360 did 6.4 million.

The jump to nearly 7 million seems really unrealistic.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Please take a crash course on the current economic situation in the world. Your numbers are unrealistic for both systems.

Also please show me the software support that's going to push these insane numbers for the PS3

Also, like said before , more 360 doom is needed to fulfill this thread.

Id say the PS3 will do:

September - 675,000
October - 875,000
November - 1,600,000
December - 3,000,000

So around 6M, a 1.8M increase over last year for the same period (Price Cut, GT5, FFXIII, Economy should pick up slightly soon, new model)

If Microsoft are planning on releasing these hybrid games for Natal then they clearly don't understand how to combat disruption..

Meaning it'll fail..

It seems unrealistic, but it isn't unrealistic. Last years numbers were actually 4.5 mill PS3s and 6.6 mill X360s = 11.1 million. My prediction has them combined 12.4 million this year (Sept-Dec) - thats only lil over a 1 million increase. Member that last year PS3 had no price cut, so therefore I believe the HD consoles will sell sell better this Holiday season. The recession has very little negative effect on the sales.

- The recession dont affect console sales much at all. No crash course is needed.

- The software support for PS3 consists of FF13 in Japan and in the West the insane hype for GT5 which is just around the corner. But mostly it's simply a price cut effect that brings increased sales, because the PS3 already has a very strong software library.

Your total is 6.15 mill. September alone will sell over 1 million PS3s (if u define it as a 5 week month like NPD does - else, if 4 week, it's gonna be 850K). So that increases your number to 6.5 mill. And Dec could be 1.4 mill NA, 1.4 mill Euro and 500k Japan (if FF13 launch) = 3.3 mill which pretty much would put your numbers at 7 mil (especially if GT5 is available, then 7 mill is almost guaranteed).

Like slim will shift units in NA don't get me wrong...but 299 is still pricey for mass market here. First few weeks will have people upgrading from PS3 fat and new PS3 customers attracted by the price.

By October though it will be xbox land again. Especially with COD and Halo around. You may be right that PS3 will win Sept NDP but I don't see them winning Oct, Nov and Dec.

Remember that the mass market bought 50 million Wiis at $249. $299 is almost the same - how can a consumer make such a big difference between a #4 and a #9 squeezed in there?
