Namco: Wii can't handle Tekken 6, PSP can.

Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Namco: Wii can't handle Tekken 6, PSP can.

I'm not asking for Tekken, but people are blind with Wii hatred, so they defend these kind of devs. I'm asking for developers to stop giving out false and terrible excuses.

If they don't want to make the game then don't fucking make it, but don't come out and lie about why they aren't making it. Wii is far more capable than a PSP. And no, the guy didn't talk about PSP, I did, and in no manner the title is inflamatory since there's a PSP VERSION BEING MADE BY THAT MAN. Damn ignorants defending the undefendable.

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.

You don't see them making a DS version of the game either. They're putting the portable version on the most technologically advanced handheld and the console version on the two most technologically advanced consoles.

I don't think people should expect companies to have to go through the time, effort, and have to spend the finances to make a Wii version from the ground up soley because Nintendo wanted to release a console closer to last gen than current gen multi-core hardware tech. Especially when quite a few hardcore games never even sell a million copies on Wii.

I'm sure Tekken 6 doesn't matter much to the blue ocean crowd that bought the Wii for Wii Sports and Wii Fit, and gamers demanding more core games on Wii that don't have one of the other more hardcore consoles too, well they probably knew what they were getting into when they decided to go with the Wii only option.

smash brothers has 8.5 millions ltd, why can't it sell on wii?
with promos, it could be a revolution for this license because it got old and i stopped after the 3rd edition.

There are only ever three reasons.

1.  They don't have the man power to do a Wii version along with all the others (possible).

2.  Technical limitations (PSP version...so not possible).

3.  Cost of develpment not worth predicted profit (possible, remember breaking even or small profit isn't always good enough to be worth doing if the man power could be used on more profitable projects instead).

Giving answer number 2 as a reason for no Tekken is bullshit, but really why does anyone care for the particular reasons?  End result is the same.

Well, it could also be that a company doesn't really want to go through the trouble to make a hardcore fighter on a system where it is destined to be outsold by a cartoon fighter.

@trestres

ever think namco may be making a psp version instead of a wii version because people usually don't hold handheld games to the same standard as console games graphics wise?

Currently Watching - Naruto, One Piece

Waiting For - Skyrim, Mass Effect 3

PS3 Trophies

Tekken 6 was made for an arcade board that is essentially a PS3. Namco probably just doesn't think a home version of Tekken 6 with awkward control schemes and a less than arcade perfect experience would sell enough to justify porting costs, especially when they will have arcade perfect versions on the PS3/360 that will cost roughly the same.

What broken logic is that?

A brawler that contains a crapload of IPs so is bound to have some initial interest for just about anyone, that is made by Nintendo, has had previous outings on Nintendo systemsand is only available on the Wii.

vs

A completely different sort of fighter that has its own IP as the only thing to garner interest, has never had a previous itteration appaear on a Nintendo console and that is being release on PS3, 360 and PSP?

Yeah, I'm sure it will sell identical.

Casper, I know you are an alt account to txrattlesnake and BTFeather55, and who knows how many others, so just get a life. I still don't know how you haven't been IP banned yet... Mods don't you realize it's him yet once again?

And to the rest, I'm not asking for a Wii version of this game, I'm asking for excuses like those to stop. They simply have to say "we have no interest in making it" beecause lying like that only causes anger in the fans, who aren't stupid BTW.

Yea, but we'll see how many money those wise, wise words will cost. PSP is a joke when it comes to software sales.
