Did anyone watch the ROH Championship match between Lethal and Strong?

--SPOILERS--, though I doubt anyone much cares about being spoiled for an ROH match.

I admit that I only watched half the match. Why only half when I think both Lethal and Strong are excellent in the ring? Because I was bored to tears by that point and turned off the feed.

The outcome of the match, if you're wondering, was a 60 minute draw. Yes, just like they used to have in the old days. Now, I don't necessarily have a problem with that--it's not like I knew it would be a 60 minute match when I turned it off after 30 minutes--but the pace simply did not keep me interested.

I know it was incredibly hot, and I now realize that both guys were trying to conserve energy, but I swear that Lethal rolled to the outside every single time he took some offense from Strong. He'd roll out, Strong would follow, they'd walk around the ring throwing each other into the barricades, then they'd make it back into the ring right before being counted out. Then Lethal would get knocked out again and they'd repeat the whole process. The flip side would be when Strong would eat some offense and Lethal would throw him out so his goons could take some cheap shots, which also happened many times.

Inside the ring wasn't a lot better, as they spent a huge amount of time simply trading chops.

I'm sure the stretch run was a LOT more entertaining, which is what everyone is saying, but when the first 30 or 40 minutes of your match is boring, who cares? They weren't prepared to entertain the crowd for a solid hour. I don't even blame the wrestlers, as they rarely if ever have to perform hour-long matches in this day and age, but whomever booked this should have been aware of that.

I dunno. If you think about it the Shawn Michaels/Brett Hart Iron Man Match from WM12 was a hour long draw. There were lots of lulls in the match and lots of old school grappling, but I thought it was entertaining. Problem is that its has to have lulls in the action these days. Most wrestlers couldn't pull off what they did.

That was also 20 years ago and involved two of the best wrestlers who ever lived.  I remember watching Flair vs. Steamboat go an hour and never once feeling bored.  I've seen Kawada and Kobashi beat the hell out of each other for an hour, inside the ring with actual wrestling moves, while building around a psychology of repeatedly going after injuries.  The pacing in those matches was good and the drama continued to build and build.  That's because those guys knew what they were doing and the booking was solid.  They were all extremely familiar with each other and used to carrying main events on their backs.

Even now, with all my criticism of the WWE, I'd still trust them to map out a 60 minute match in a way that involved unique spots and memorable moments that would serve to keep the crowd engaged.  Simply having guys roll outside to extend the length of a match does not accomplish that.

The actor who plays as Hulk Hogan deserves it especially if those thoughts are still with him.

However the character "Hulk Hogan" or "Hollywood Hogan" should never be erased and its sad that they are Benoiting the character :(!

They announced he wont be in WWE 2k16 :(

Its not shocking he as those viewpoints. He has been around for decades and most people I know that are around that age still have some of the old feelings. He should have had enough sense to make sure he wasn't being recorded when he was saying those things though.

Considering the fact that the audio was from....a sex tape with him and brutus beefcake's wife.....sense really isnt something he has lol.

Bubba the Love Sponge! Hulk supposedly had an affair with Brutus himself but I don't think there is a tape of that!

Oh my bad lol

Still.....thats just plain wrong.

Everyone else might already know this but I just now learned the idea to tape Hogan having sex with Bubba the Love Sponge's wife came from ... Bubba the Love Sponge.  Gah.  It was an "agreement" they made.  Then Bubba got mad at Hogan about something, possibly for being fired from TNA for the stupid things he said about Awesome Kong, and released the tapes somehow.

These people ...

Edit:  By the way, your avatar ... is that intentional?

What?! is this true? This is bordering on some sort of sick wrestling backstory that played out in real life.

Yeah, seems to be true.  Supposedly Bubba taped her having sex with other guys, as well.

In the court records is Bubba’s 2014 deposition, in which he talked about his provocative radio show, described his friendship with Hogan, and detailed the security system he had in place both at his office and his house. Bubba also explained his wife’s attraction to Hogan and how having sex was “unequivocally not [Hogan’s] idea.” Bubba insists he did not download the recording in order to sell it.

“It was very much an error in judgment,” Bubba said in the deposition on why he burned the DVD. “It’s the biggest mistake I have made in my life.”

----

The atmosphere on the Bubba the Love Sponge Show was one of “organized chaos” and an “insane frat house,” Richard Peirce, who worked on the program, said in a deposition. Strippers and porn stars were frequent guests. Bubba’s sex life with Heather was a common topic both on and off the air. Employees testified that Bubba — whose former name is Todd Alan Clem, which he changed because he ran for sheriff in Pinellas County and wanted his name as “Bubba” on the ballot — would often show them nude photos of Heather.

“We all had seen her naked,” Peirce said.

An indie promotion needs to take that whole story and run with it.  Maybe with Adam Cole and Veda Scott, they both do sleezy well.

The Warrior had a pretty good rant on Hogan a few years ago, pretty much confirms the wife swapping. Reason why Macho Man hated Hogan as much as he did.

Also what do you mean about my avatar ;o?

It looks like Bubba the Love Chocobo  >o

In other news, I'm watching RAW live for the first time since I turned off the "Kathy and Hoda" episode.

Ambrose getting squashed by Show was interesting.  Good of them to put over the up and coming talent.

Cena's nose looked brutal last night. He should have won after the attitude adjustment, not by making Rollins tap out. It made the World Champ look weak especially with the broken nose.
