I don't even know why this PPV exists, to be honest. Nothing special about it at all. I'm also completely blown away by WWE booking. I don't understand what they're trying to accomplish, unless they're attempting to make Summerslam feel important by keeping anything interesting from happening before it arrives.
- Usos vs. Wyatts: Match of the show, easily. Why didn't the Wyatts finally get the belts, though? The Usos have only been interesting because of the Wyatt feud. The Wyatts winning would have kept some level of excitement about the tag division going forward. Strange. Also, it should have been much higher on the card.
- A.J. vs. Paige: As I said before, not really good but better than most Divas matches. Was badly hurt by odd pacing and Paige acting unstable. I have no freaking clue why the announcers spent most of the match talking about Twitter. The "frenemies" angle is stupid.
- Rusev vs. Swagger: Eh. I thought Swagger looked good, to be honest. Rusev is still very unpolished and doesn't have many moves. He looks lost when he's in control, which is bad for a monster heel who is supposed to dominate most of the time. I'm fine with the ending, as it didn't really hurt Swagger. He lost but he looked like he was close to the win before that.
- Rollins vs. Ambrose: Ah, this had to be a bright spot for anyone who bought the PPV just for this match. Some brawling that should have been on RAW and the match was called off. Wow. Totally and completely a setup for a match at Summerslam but a rip off now.
Bray Wyatt vs. Jericho: Not a bad match, though it felt more like RAW quality. Why isn't Bray winning ANYTHING AT ALL? New feud, loses. New feud, loses. He's going down rather than up. Next he'll job to Kofi and his career will be over. WWE creative killed what could have been an interesting character for a long time. Could have been even better than Raven's Flock but instead they started off with Cena beating the whole family. Nice job, WWE.
IC Title Battle Royal: Or, as I like to call it, The Parade of Failed Pushes. I mean, damn. Watching all those failed or stalled pushes come down was painful. So many guys who the WWE has cut adrift like the last year of the Wii. Ziggler was the highlight for me. Kofi's spots were silly and really just showcased how incredibly strong Cesaro is. When they showed The Miz hiding early, the ending was effectively given away. I figured it would be him, because he's like the only one there being pushed right now, or Sheamus, as the WWE loves him for some reason. It really was nothing special. By the way, Titus is a beast, why have they done nothing with him?
Fatal Four Way: This was about as predictable as you can possibly get. Kane and Orton had a falling out. Reigns did his big come back. Cena grabbed the win at the end. Yay. It's like they tried to make it boring on purpose. Orton worked really hard here, though. He's improved so much. Reigns ... shouldn't he actually win a match before he's in the picture for the World Title? Are they even trying in terms of logic?
This whole thing was just a meaningless setup for Summerslam. RAW will probably be more interesting.
