Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Does PS3 or Wii have an answer to this protential Fall 2010 X360 lineup?

We all know Fable 3 has just been announced and will be released in the Fall of 2010. First 2 games sold over 3 millions a piece

Halo Reach will sell millions and could break sales record. It will also be Bungie last Halo game so they go out with a bang.

Gears oF War 3 IMO will be released in Nov 2010 (2 years apart like the first two games) 10 miliion selling franchise.

I also think Half Life 2 episode 3 will be revealed either at next year GDC or E3 and will be released end of 2010 based on this http://www.halflife2.net/half-life-2-episode-3.

Also, the release of Natal with RARE support and a launch lineup of games for it.

If this is indeed realty, will this be the best fall exclusive lineup in the history of gaming for one console? Does Nintendo or Sony have an answer to this protential blockbuster Fall lineup. Please jump in and debate.

Episode 3 isn't a really good example you know. Orange box was on the PS3.

But Valve won't be making PS3 games anytime soon in the near or distance future http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/93884-Gabe-Newell-Yes-Were-Still-Working-on-Half-Life-2-Episode-3

"Still, when asked if Valve was working on the PS3 in an attempt to get better at programming for it, Newell's response was fairly clear: "No. Not in any real way."

So, when Half-Life 2: Episode 3 does eventually come out after Valve is done learning ASL, it probably won't be on the PS3. Gee, you'd almost think Gabe Newell has a grudge against the console or something.

Gabe Newell is a Microsoft fanboy... wait he's more then that, he's an ex-Microsoft employee. Apparantly he loves Windows (as his child) and only left because he wanted to make games. If he has a grudge against Sony then it's because the PS2 wiped the floor with Microsoft's original xbox.

As for the line-up you've posted, maybe it's because they aren't my genres but it doesn't blow me away. 2010 will be a good year for both HD consoles (game-wise atleast) but then I'm looking at the full year. But I doubt it's going to make a big difference, all sequels so if anyone wanted those titles then they would have gotten a 360 already. It's going to end up being about what the cheapest deal is the parents/mainsteam gamers can find during the holiday season.

Well somebody's pissed off...here's a cookie, does that make it better?

Given the fact that the origional Xbox was MS first attempt at a gaming system, You could hardly say that Sony wiped the floor with them, any other console just starting out would have done the same. MS was just setting up for this gen when it would be payback time. Also, if Gabe didn't like Sony, his studio never would have made games for a Sony console, geniouse.

I don't think thats a mind blowing line-up.
Sequels to all popular games...personally only Fable3 stands out for me.
I'm sure Sony and Ninty can match that...like I said, I don't think its all that grand!

I'd prefer less exclusives, and more multiplatform games!
That way everyone can experience the fun!

Fable 3 = Zelda Wii

Halo Reach = Super Mario Galaxy 2

Gears 3 = Metroid: Other M

Natal = WM+ (already here) and Wii Vitality Sensor

Seems like Nintendo has Microsoft covered.. I'd like to point out though that I don't think Gears of War 3 or Zelda Wii will make it out for next year.

In terms of sales or in terms of quality games?

In sales Nintendo can easily match that. If they release SMG2, M: Other M and Zelda Wii for fall 2010, then that matches MS's line up on quality.

Sony can match it for quality; The Last Guardian.

Orange box was not ported to the PS3 by Valve themselves, but by a team at EA. Something similar will most likely happen with Episode 3. Those PS3 owners who won't or can't choose the PC version just have to hope for a better porting job this time.

And while it looks like a great lineup for Q4 2010, I wouldn't count on Fable III. Announced for "end of 2010" with all indications of experimental Natal integration going on in it and Natal being itself still a moving target of a platform? Seems a recipe for having it delayed into 2011. Or maybe it's just that Peter broke my heart too many times :)

"..." - Gordon Freeman

Resistance 3, probably MotorStorm 3, Jak and Daxter 4 are very probable for the holidays.

Games likely to come out at some point in 2010 exclusive to PS3 are:

MAG Jan
Heavy Rain Q1
God of War 3 (March)
ModNation Racers
The Agency (console exclusive)
Final Fantasy XIV (console exclusive)
PSmote
The Last Guardian
Eat Sleep Play game
Lightbox Interactive game
Clap Hanz game? {probably PS mote game}
Sony Liverpool studio game?
Sony Bend console game?
Killzone 3 ?????
More LBP DLC (enough for a game)
Agent ?
Final Fantasy Versus XIII ? (prob only JP)
{Kingdom Hearts 3 ?????????}

So the answer is wait and see

EDIT: added in the Agency, FF XIV, SCE Liverpool game and Clap Hanz game
