Forza 3 has fake damage too.

Games = not real.

Well. it's way more realistic then GT5. At least the damage effects how you drive. GT5 damage is just cosmetic crap. It looks like an afterthought that Polyphony just through in to make a few gamers happy.

You may like you played the game and know whats in it.

no its amazing!!! cos the "news story" says so...

OT, if the damage doesnt affect handling then it isnt damage... its a con. but we dont know yet and we cant tell from the vids really. wait and see... it shoudlnt be too long....

The news story was epic, and a LOT of people agree with me that it looks amazing, you just seem bitter.

Also, damage doesnt necessarily mean the handling will screw up.

Example- My rear brake light cracks... i wont suddenly go flying off the track.
Another example- My windscreen cracks... it will reduce my view, but it wont screw with my handling.

Not trying to sound like a fanboy or anything, but someone with knowledge in Physics could calculate how much weight a car suspension holds and the strength of the impacts shown in the video, so we could have a rough idea if the handling should be affected in some way or not?

that bumper should affect car alone, basically it should fall off after a while.

@Munkeh111, that's what i'm saying if it's not in all the cars then don't release info in fact sheet that there is damage in all cars when there isn't.

All cars have damage, a premium set of cars have exterior AND interior damage.

Now i say it again... please... Shut up waron.

From IGN:

First off, Kazunori confirmed that not all the cars in Gran Turismo 5 will have damage models -- only select sets of cars will feature damage support. No official word yet on what those car sets are, but hopefully we'll have more on that soon.

Unless IGN got the translation wrong (which is a possibility although not high as they've mentioned this in 2 article now), then this is a big fail imo. You can't have a game where car deformation only exist for certain car so in the end when you pick cars to race, you will only be able to pick from the deformation set , the non-defomration set or turn damage off.

However else you want to justify the fact that PD are artist and perfectionist, they are also still entertainers and to me, the above is something that should be highly criticised as its simply not good enough.

well i would like to see in at least one racing sim Grid level of damage system - maybe not as extreme where cars on finish line look the were taken from Mad Max movie, but Codemasters done really great job on visual deformation part.

Shut up waron.

You are just jealous that GT5 > anything ever

I am sick of people like you who hate on FF XIII and The Last Guardian every chance they get.

Boom Blox says "Hi!"

All I want to know is why the doors are fapping.

I'd be curious about that too.

Damage won't affect how you drive in Forza 3, either. If you ever crash you'll just rewind time and return your car to pristine condition :P

Wow...and they say that only ps3 fanboys do damage control...
Not saying anyone here is a 360 fanboy but seriously? The amount of posturing going on here is amazing. Anyhoo, rock on folks.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

the negative comments in this thread on GT5 are just mindless speculations. You see one trailer and judge the entire game.

Let me tell you something;

Racing is not about damage.
Racing is not about sharing your pretty master chief paint job
Racing is not about an online auction to sell your car.

Racing is about racing. and while the first one does factor into the grand equation, it's silly to assume that any real racing fan would put that on the top of the list of priorities. The others are just things to make diversify the game, because lets face it, the content provided in Forza 3 could easily be the size of a DLC for GT5.

Both of these games will be great, and Forza desperately needs those sharing and customization options to have at least something over GT.

Gran Turismo is the king of racers for a reason, lets not all forget that over night. Forza 3 will be an amazing game though.

Also, @XanderZane, Polyphony Digital has gone much, much farther than Turn 10 ever will. Please don't be so silly. They are the reason Turn 10 exists.

...and the bitter tears begin to flow.
