Forums - Sony Discussion - GT5 have fake damage system.

so to all those people that scream "GT5 have real damage system" i would like to point out two simple things you can clearly see from those videos:

1. damage don't affect handling AT ALL,

2. there's no car deformation AT ALL. cars are hitting walls and we can see no deformation on bumpers and front of the cars eventhoug the bumper is half on the street. car hit the wall sideway and doors are fapping all the way but still not a single scratch on them,

THAT'S NOT DAMAGE SYSTEM.

when car in Forza 3 drive into sand we can even see dirt on the front, we can see scratches when it hits wall, we can see deformation when it will hit the wall. GT5 on those Gamescon videos have non of those.

so the point u imply is to ditch ps3 for 360 to play forza3 so that we njoi the real DAMAGE SYSTEM?!! C'mon dood....

The Gamescom vid didn't show any Sand.
It was to show off the damage.
Damage isn't the highest priority of GT5, that's been established. The fact that it is there helps a lot.

Both games are going to be great, Forza 3 and GT5. But please refrain for making these posts. GT5 offers more than enough. This isn't about running into the wall, this is about racing.

The damage is there, its modeled for 1000 cars.
If you do not understand what kind of an incredible feat that is, that's fine.

Grasping at straws like this is pathetic. It seems so many people just need some reason to justify this game not being fantastic.. but it will be, and it is.

If your reason for purchasing a racing game is whether or not the paint gets scratched when it hits the wall, that's your choice... But I'm personally looking for what's under the hood, if you will.

All I want to know is why the doors are fapping.

no i'm talking about the fact that Sony and Polyphony Digital are doing again the same s**t that was with 2005 E3 conference, that was with Gran Turismo Portable(it was supposedly be a launch title by sony if i remember), they pretty much dumbed down GT4 and are releasing it on psp(i'm not saying that's a bad thing, but they were making it for what? 5-6 years? COME ON). after this damage thing i doubt there is a single true statement in that GT5 info sheet they released.

I didn't see accurate shadow casting on Forza, or reflections. This small clip did however show doors falling off, bumpers being affected by different crashes and the hood as well. We don't know how it affects driving as we haven't played it yet, and the clips where so small and non HD, its hard to say what level of detail there was when hitting a wall.

That may not even be the final build. I'm sure that there will be alot more to the damage than that. Plus I dont like your negativity. Whenever you have a chance you will bash Sony and and the PS3.

Not all cars have damage unfortunately, but let's wait for some direct feed footage
