Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 slim it's UGLIER than the normal PS3

Hi guys

I'm sad..... The new PS3 is way UGLIER than the old one.... I'm GLAD I have the first model.

OLD:

NEW:

It looks like a "Chinese" console or something...... What's your opinion?

i like it. I sold my old fatass yesterday, getting the new one day 1.

Do you want japanese voices in FF13 and Versus 13? Write to these guys and tell them: support@square-enix-usa.com

The slim looks better from the front, but I would still take the phat. My main problem with the slim is actually the lack of a rotating PS logo

IMO people wanted a price cut. Sony did what they needed to by bringing people a CHEAPER console so its going to look CHEAPER.

EDIT: The pics don't do it justice the unboxing video makes it look alot sexier.

The point of the Slim is to lower costs above all else. I think Sony's realised that pleasing customers of the original PS3 is not a profitable strategy.

I agree, the finish is better

I have a 60Go fat but I like this one more... no dust, no fingerprints, less hassle

I never thought I would say it, but I prefer the old George Foreman look to the new model. Why is it so hard to get consoles that look nice this generation? All I wanted was a nice blue Wii, any color scheme other than white and green for the 360, and a decent looking, relatively compact PS3. Why must all my dreams be shattered?

I think the logo still rotates... I mean it did still on the Slim PS2 didn't it? So wouldn't imagine that would change in this model, it is just white instead of nice and colourful now lol

Well, it's hard to be cheap AND profitable with nice glossy plastic, chrome finish and fancy touch sensitive buttons. Sony has realised that these things don't matter to the consumer and it still looks better than the 360, and less "Chinese" than the Wii ;)
