Another thread filled with hate, visited by the usual suspects from our neighboring forum.

What would be love without hate?

wow i don't trust a survey where the person may or may not even own a 360 to begin with. Try this survey on this site, i guarantee you there will be a lot of PS3 fanboys saying their 360 they never owned has failed.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

@Slimebeast : It has nothing to do with hate or love.

Selling a product with a >50% failure rate is just unacceptable.

If you accept that, then tomorrow you'll lose your 50% failure rate TV. Then you'll have nothing to eat because your 50% failure rate refrigerator just died. Then you'll die in a 10% failure rate plane.

You know what I mean ? Stop bending and accepting your punition.

If it was Sony, I would say the same. 10% is still too high by the way...

We are the consumers, we are the ones who decide.

The message now is "it's ok to sell us a 50% failure rate product".

This is a stupid message to send. It has nothing to do with hate. It's about responsibility.

Seriously, 54%, that's insane....
Microsoft should stick to software.

Do you want japanese voices in FF13 and Versus 13? Write to these guys and tell them: support@square-enix-usa.com

LMAO, you people are taking a random reader's poll from Game Informer as truth? I bet 2/3 of the people that responded were Sony fanboys. There is no way in hell that 54% is even close to correct. The actual number is probably more like 20-25% at worst. I know at least a dozen people that have owned 360s for at least 2 years and none of them has had an RROD. Anyone can spout baseless crap personal stories and offer them as truth. The real truth is that nobody knows an exact number and never will, but regardless the 360 still outsells the PS3 every single week and will continue to do so. Not to mention the fact that the 360 still has the best attach ratio of all 3 consoles as well. It is so funny that the Sony fanboys keep talking about RROD to this day because they have nothing else they can claim is better about the PS3. And before you call me a MS fanboy, I have owned all of the Sony consoles and the PSP and I still think the Xbox is 10 times better than the PS3 I sold because I only used it for movies 99% of the time...

I don't think people should let these failure rates bug them. Hell, I prefer the PS3 and still would continue to buy 360s if mine broke, the console has a library well worth it. It's just a statistic folks, and btw, sorry if anyone has been part of it.

Nevertheless, at the end of the day, they're all good consoles.

im on my second purchase and wud neVer buy a 3rd if this went kaPut ,

I don't think it was incompetence. I believe the problem was rush-to-market. Look at the original Xbox, did it have such a failure rate, I don't think so...

I'd agree that it's not institutional incompetence on their part, but I'm not sure that disregarding a known problem isn't worse than outright incompetence.

Oh well. That three year warranty helps me sleep at night!

Failure rates are counted as failure rate per year, not lifetime failure rates. Otherwise all products would have 100% failure rate in the end and whole statistics would be completely useless. So these statistics are badly inflated because they count lifetime failures.

Not that useful a survey, IMHO - too many loose factors.

I have no doubt the 360 has worst reliability, but I doubt the true average is that high - if it is then clearly gamers globally need a swift smack for endorsing it, but I really doubt it is that high.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I think the early models will eventually have a 90-100% failure rate, but some of those broken bastards are hanging on a little longer. The new models however have a much lower failure rate, probably close to that of the PS3 and Wii so they take them percentage of failures down. I think the 3,8% is also a reasonable number, most people have enough common sense to know that the next xbox probably won't have such a high failure rate as Microsoft won't make the same design choices again. But a better question would have been ''would you wait with buying another xbox till it's certain it won't fail as often?'', I think the number will be shockingly high compaired to the 3,8%.
