Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Monster Hunter 3 now confirmed to be Wii exclusive

Um.. I think one of us are interpreting it wrong

"As always, we at Capcom will continue to strive to develop new and original games that appeal to a broad audience around the world while expanding our properties for multiple platforms. We believe that by bringing the Monster Hunter series to multiple platforms, it will help the franchise reach an even greater number of users eager for its unique gameplay."

They clearly say series, not Monster Hunter 3 .. as you know, the previous games have been on PS2 and PSP, hence bringing the 3rd game to Wii will be continuing the multiple platforms trend

Thank you, that's what I've been trying to say: by saying "bringing the Monster Hunter series to multiple platforms" they mean the transition to Wii. The game is Wii exclusive.

You're right, the thought is cool, though. Imagine your team consisting of Link, Pit, Mario, Samus, Kirby..etc and then fighting FF-style against Bowser, Ganon, Riley...etc

^^ *head explodes*

I am the happy man!

I think that would have to be done very carefully, but it could really be great. Something like Bowser and Ganon and all the other baddies teaming up because they don't stand a chance against their individual heroes.

Currently Playing: Skies of Arcadia Legends (GC), Dragon Quest IV (DS)

Last Game beaten: The Rub Rabbits(DS)

Here's what the article said in the original post:

Nintendo Co Ltd, the world's largest maker of portable game consoles, on Wednesday won an exclusive deal in which major game developer Capcom Co Ltd will supply its blockbuster Monster Hunter 3 action game title for its Wii home-use, stand-alone game machines.

 ...

"Due to high development cost of titles for PS3, we have decided to switch the platform to which we release our Monster Hunster 3 title," Capcom managing corporate officer Katsuhiko Ichii said. Nintendo has a rich title line-up for children but has few strong titles that can appeal to core game players or adults.

Or a foe that could be so powerful and dangerous that all of their worlds would be in danger and they had to unite to stand a chance. Imagine a team : Sonic, Bowser, Link and Pit

Looks like fun to me.

wow. Props to Capcom for stepping up to the plate. I didn't think they would be the first of the 3 big Japan 3rd parties to throw out some big guns. Lets see some other developers jump in with them!
