Forums - Sony Discussion - Monster Hunter 3 PS3 gone from Capcom site

@routsounmanman:

The list is the Famitsu list I posted above, the ONLY comes from Shams saying:

"Now on that top 5 list, there are only 2 exclusive PS3 titles. One of which is FF, which has lots of spin-offs including some Wii variety ones."

I meant that it might be a little too much to say that the PS3 has ONLY 2 exclusives in the top 5 (though it used to be 4).

As naznatips said, the only platform listed is Wii
Official Capcom Press Release

Wow... it does sound exclusive. I'm sort of in shock...

Now on that top 5 list, there are only 2 exclusive PS3 titles. One of which is FF, which has lots of spin-offs including some Wii variety ones.

MGS4 - last bastion for the PS3?

Indeed; If I were Microsoft (or Bill Gates) I'd pay some serious money to nab MGS4. And does anyone else feel that Nintendo just stole both Microsoft's (Halo 3) and Sony's (with the amazing 2008 lineup) thunder? I mean, everyone was like "hey Wii has a good lineup with SMG, SSBB, MP3,etc in 2007 but after that what else?". Nintendo seems even stronger in 2008 now... Scary stuff.

Mh is only a semi relevent japan title, just becuse it went to the wii does not mean its now all that.  Famitsu list means nothing, Gundam was #1 all it did was 300k sold.

 - is there any proof Mh was even in development for the PS3, i have never even seen a screen shot.

@BengaBenga
Oh sorry, my bad... :)

@Mars

I'm just saying that Nintendo has gone from meh in 2008 to directly competing with PS3 even with all those games pushed back (MH3, No more Heroes, SSBB, Wii Fit, Mario Kart, Tales of Symphonia 2, Soul Calibur Legends,etc).

@Mars

It was listed as PS3 by Capcom, that's enough proof.

I don't call an instant million seller and Capcom's 3rd biggest title (in Japan) semi relevant. It is a major blow to the PS3 in Japan, and companies like Square and Konami will take notice of such a decision because it's another big PS3 title gone which means less sales, and another big Wii title added, which means... yep... even more sales.

What is it in the brackets? "Try"? A subtitle maybe?

While it could mean "try", it could also mean "tri" (reflecting the game's number in the series).

仮 means "preliminary" by the way, so it seems that it had not been a definite decision to release it for PS3 that had to be canceled now.

I agree with BengaBenga; say you're a 3rd party developer (small or big) and you see Capcom devoting itself to the Wii, you'll make the jump as well sooner or later, even if you were reluctant (typo?) to do so.

Oops, posted a new thread about this but this is now a confirmed Wii exclusive(or at least, exclusive to Nintendo consoles), switched from the PS3:

Nice find. From that article:

"Due to high development cost of titles for PS3, we have decided to switch the platform to which we release our Monster Hunster 3 title," Capcom managing corporate officer Katsuhiko Ichii said.

If this is true, it's becoming more and more difficult to think about the PS3 winning in Japan... Sony, get your act together in Europe and USA, because Nintendo is eating the PS3 alive in Japan.

It's not just doom and gloom, it's the truth!

What was Sony doing during all this?

How could they just let this title slip away from them?

Well thats it ... I really dont want to her nothing about Capcom no more ... I simply refuse to buy any games from them untill they will start to show some real attention to PS consoles ... not that my purchase will matter or not :(
