Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Kinda surpised...

I searched and didn't see a thread about this, to me it's a big deal, it's late coming but a big deal neverless...

http://wii.ign.com/articles/101/1013118p1.html

"Here's where things get really good for Wii owners. As I mentioned High-Capacity SD is now supported, with 32 gig cards already on the market and pretty cheap considering the amount of space you're getting. A quick search on google got me a 32 gig SD card for around $60, and if you need to go cheaper than that you can find 16's for half the price. The reason you'll want a new SD card is pretty simple; SD streaming will kick off with GH5. All the tricks used for both Guitar Hero and Rock Band in the past – leaving internal memory open– is gone. Instead, straight-up booting off the SD card is available, and that means easier downloads, larger expansions, and quicker loads when bringing in song data from the SD card into GH5."

TROOF!!!! lol, I wonder how this will effect Homebrew users when the update comes out? Cause really that was the only reason I could see using homebrew...screw cheating...

NINTENDO

nintendo forever . . .

Saw this coming long time, but they sure are slow on upgrading support even though it's only firmware update.

Now, people can stop moaning about the lack of HDD.

Yeah, this should have been out when they added the SD Menu.

If there's one thing disappointing about the Wii itself, for me, it's the fact Nintendo are so slow to improve their firmware. Don't get me wrong, I like the Wii Menu, I just hope they did more to improve it as time went by.

Still, this is good news, even if it's late.

I agree 100%. But, I often wonder if it is because for a company that is LARGE in the marketplace, Nintendo has operated like a small company for a while now. Unlike MS or Sony, I don't think Nintendo has a team JUST working on updates and ways to improve their interface, and if they do it's definitely smallish...

Not too shabby. A few 32 GB cards will nicely compensate for no HDD

Their company is all about small teams. If you look at the Iwata Asks, it makes Wii Motion Plus sound like it was developed by three people in a garage. Microsoft probably has 50 engineers working full-time on Natal and they can't get a product out within a year of the leader.
