It scared the shit out of me.

Anyway, I like the game alot. I give it a 9/10. Amazing graphics, strong gameplay, and great production values. It's a AAA game from a 3rd party that is a new IP, based on MF'n RE4. How can that game not rock?

...and don't listen to the Condemned 1 praises here. That game has some of the most basic controls I've ever seen in a shooter/whatever the hell it is. Boring and repetive as hell. It had great atmosphere, but I feel the original F.E.A.R. was superior in every way. It's already dated as hell, as well.

I strongly disagree. Your arguments here resemble a PS3 fanboy arguing why Killzone 2 is superior to every other game...on paper it seems correct but couldn't be farther from the truth.

First of all, Condemned 1 is scary because its believable with realistic controls and scenarios. Its not a shooter nor is it a ninja gaiden like game...there is no double jumps or power up slow mo guns...game is going for realism and is unique.

And controls are actually great for what they are and not dated at all. Simple block/attack needs skill to pull off unlike most button mash fests. If you try to button mash in the game you will get raped. Sequel made controls a lot "better" but ruined the game by doing so.

The bottom line is that since so many of us are praising the game, its obvious that it does hold some value...the game is a new experience for gamers...nothing like it before or since...which is something you can't say for Dead Space. Dead space, while having AAA production, uses loads of recycled ideas and is a true example of "repetitive as hell."

I was looking for copywright infringment lawsuits from holywood and other games after i played Dead Space.

It's so scary. It makes Resident Evil like Petz.

I rented it, but am gona buy it when it drops to 20 dollars.

Go to your local Target, in the gaming Clearance section, they should have Dead Space for $20.98 for the PS3. I think they ran out of 360 versions in most places.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

lol this lot must have been brave, there was definitely a few pant filling moments playing this in the dark on my own

Dead Space was never really scary. The game does a good job of keeping you on your toes, but it never goes beyond that tension. I never felt like it was actually a horror game, more like a shooter trying to be one.

Still a good game though.

I found it scary.

If you want the scare factor

1. Dont read up too much on the back story.
2. Dont go to Gamefaqs and cheat play the game as intended.
3. Play at night with the lights off.

I loved it. Its not the scare you witless scary its just a constant ever present fear.

It also has one of the best Boss Death Sequences. Loved it.

My Game of The Year thus far.

Really, I must go look, because this is on my must-buy list of this generation. I used to have Game fly, but I always buy the games I find uber-awesome.

The intro is awesome

It came out last year

But am I the only one who turned it off after half an hour, despite how great it was, just because I was too terrified to keep playing?

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?
