Forums - Sales Discussion - Will the Wii lose again?

On the world weekly sales the Wii has sold the most every week this year except two.

3/25/07 PS3 won its first and only week with 581,610 units sold (67.57%). This was Europe lauch week.

The next week (4/1/07) PS3 lost a close one to the Wii, 153,304 to 152,840 units sold (39.85% to 39.73%).

Last week the 360 won its first week with 205,019 units sold (43.16%) to the Wii's 194,039 (40.95%).

So will the 360 win again this week? I think it is going to be a close one.

Will the supply for the Wii be enough to keep it on top for the holiday season?

Watch out for Soriku he already killed a mod and with a thread title like that he will for sure ****** you!

No.

The Wii lost week because it was beat in 2 out of 3 territories.

This week, Wii will definitely win Japan, has already won Others. Halo won't be nearly as much as a factor for NA as it was last week and if 360 still leads NA, Japan's difference will easily push Wii over in WW numbers.

No, Wii will win this week.

The 360 only barely won last week, and that was because of the Halo 3 launch. No way it wins again.

You do not have the right to never be offended.

Edit: wrong topic.

I agree that the Wii will probably win this week again. The way it looks right now the 360 would need at least 110k in America. Last week it was 122k but I expect a drop below 110k for this weeks sales.

I think Halo 3 will only take 1 week. I can't believe how close it was last week. I either expected a lot more or a lot less from Halo 3, but not such a near-tie.

I don't think a *weekly* market share graph is a very good one.

Try for either weekly sales, or current/total market share.

On your graph, the Wii has two "dips" - both were caused by spikes in sales of the competition - not drops in Wii sales. Its quite misleading!

What is telling, is that over the next month is that the market share for the Wii will continue to rise - whereas the share for the 360 will continue to fall (mainly taken by the PS3).

...

And no - I doubt the Wii will lose this week.
