you know it wouldnt be like that ^^

and yes alot of people are lazy and it seems to be ps3 owners cause all they do is complain about 360 disc change

man no wonder they dont like the wii, must be tough exercise!

hehe j/d <3

It's not just swapping discs.  Sometimes, even the common data that would normally be copied on every disc in such situations is too large for a DVD.  I explained this about Uncharted in my post a few above (the wall of text :P ).  Such gamesare just not possible without a larger storage medium, no matter how many DVDs you throw at it (unless there was a HDD to store all the data on, ala the PC) .

Also, one problem with multi-disc JRPGs is that when you get to the 3rd disc, you can't go back to areas on the 1st disc. If everything was on one disc, you can go anywhere at any time, so you don't have to worry about not finishing side quests early on.

And how would sandbox games like L.A. Noire or GTA work with multiple discs?  Imagine switching discs every time you crossed a bridge in GTAIII.  It would be a pain in the ass.

In the ps1 days, when you switched discs it did not limit you from going into old cities. Side quests usually need to be done within a certain time period anyways They most likely wouldnt make the changing discs like that, make it so part of the missions are on 1 disc, etc
So are you saying they need to change the missions and the game itself to cater to the weaker harware? Thats what ps3fan(boy?)s complain about. the 360 holding ps3 games back if they go multiplat(ive read the Devil may cry petition). If that was the case then the game would be of lower quality since the developers  would have added obstacles and couldnt do what they want if they were just developing for the ps3. i mean cmon if they wanted to make this game multiplat they would have to deal with no HDD and DVD9

Obviously the exclusive agreement and funding from SCEA has nothing to do with it not coming to 360 and it has everything to do with the 360 not being able to handle it... LOL.

@iclim4, the VP of Rockstar games already said that the DVD format and the lack of a HDD were wrecking what they wanted to do for the game. Their original vision for the game has been smashed by the weak 360.

ninja'd >.<

i wouldnt really say "wrecking" the game. but yeah the original vision of the game would be detrimented by DVD9 and lack of HDD.

Badguy: hmm... the cops are after me.. i need to drive faster!
Badguy: oh no! a part of town that would need a DVD swap change! need to make a turn and just try to
outrun the cops.... damn i wish i could leave this area.....
You: OMG he made a turn! i cant stop fast enough!!!!!! ahhhhhhh!!!! im crossing the bridge!

If you read my second post in this thread, I addressed the fact that the game is large because it is exclusive, and not exclusive because it is too large.

No i never stated that, put some missions on 1 disc and some on the other.

Seriously people, if ps1 could do it, im sure 360 can do it.

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

so did Bunjie say that ps3 cant handle Halo 3? you know cause MS funded them...
in all seriousness thoush, i do see your point, BUT what makes you think they are lying?
just because theyre funded by sony doesnt mean that what they are saying is a flat out lie.
there is a chance it might even be the truth.

anyway, if they are being funded by sony why isnt it a ps3 exclusive?

What sandbox games for ps1 had multiple discs?  Oh wait...

This was an obvious moneyhat to keep it off the 360, That was common knowledge I thought. hehe

if memory serves PS1 didnt have massive Sandbox games. sure RPG's work but Sandbox games?
read my other posts to why im making a big deal out of it.

plus what if you went on top on top of a building, what would the draw distance be? yknow since the other side of the map is in another disc.

If I recall correctly, the game was originally supposed to be paid for and published by SCEA, but later SCEA gave the publishing rights to Rockstar, but are still paying for the development of the game. Why'd they give R* the publishing rights, I don't know. Maybe they hoped the R* name would help it sell better? A R* sandbox game sounds like a winner to a casual.
