Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Guitar Hero 5 finally...

Mii support is actually pretty cool. Make you own Miis of whatever you want vs using the generic people in GH. Nice.

The DS support, well just read the 2nd link. It sounds like a freakin' blast to play. Granted you'll need DS's or friends w/ DS's but it requires no other games and a small dl to the DS.

My main point wasn't so much that it has a vast amount of features the others don't, just that the features it does have extra plus the fact that it finally matches the PS360 versions in every way makes it a superior version. Not only that but finally the Wii version is worth the price as compared to the PS360 as it has no shortcomings, only extras.

It would be interesting to see how well they implement the Miis into this.

Pacman taught people to run around in dark rooms munching on pills while listening to repettive techno music and for that I somewhat idolise him.

I'll still likely be skipping this for Beatles: Rockband. The GH5 setlist leaves something to be desired, in my opinion.

Great news for Wii owners though.

Is this the first smart thing Activision does concerning the Wii?

They barely release any good games for it, and then if they do they are multiplat inferior games. Possibly the first smart thing they have done, and hopefully we will see better support from now on, because so far it was too underwhelming for such a big company.

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Wow. Nice set of features that more games should have. Too bad I can't stand GH.

Wan't last year's GHWT pretty much the same way, and even had exclusive Mii Freestyle? Other than having the least eye-pleasing graphics, worst instrument compatibility, and legal DLC issues, I would have considered it equal to the others.

no WT didn't have 8player online (only 4), it didn't have the new DS connectivity for the unique roadie battle game, its graphics and such were not up to PS360 levels of detail and lighting (granted HD will obviously still be different), and so on.

This is cool for those looking forward to Guitar Hero, but I've been stolen away by Rock Band.

Finally a Wii version that not only has EVERY single feature and look the PS360 versions have, but also has far more. This will be my first GH purchase as they finally have made it worth it.

Full DLC ( I thought the GH4 already had full song DLS support already?)
No use of any Wii internal memory (SD Card)  (I was already downloading songs to my SD card with GH4)
Drop in/out seamless play  (You will need to clear this one up, what is dropping in and out. GH4 Wii already had persistent online connection)
8player online   (4 players local vs 4 player online, is this full band online vs full band online? I was never in  a band to tell)
4 local  (GH4 Wii already could do this)
full connectivity with past DLC and all instruments in World Tour (can't blame GH4 Wii doesn't support GH4 Wii, but glad GH5 is full backwards)
85 track list fully usable at beginning (glad we are moving away from the unlockables)
Can make custom tracks  (with that POS of the Tune Maker )
Can record your show and share (This is almost pointless, if you can't really be creative and adlib activly is there really a point to this?)
Mii Use (well GH4 did this to a minor extent. It will be good to see a more biiger use)
NO FRIEND CODES -- That's right as long as they are already in your Wii friend list its automatic. The way it should be.(yes it should be indeed)
New DS connectivity in new Roadie Battle mode (read IGN below for more info)(sounds interesting)

Only negative I can see is it actually costs the same as the PS360 versions instead of being $10 less. :( But, it has more features so I'm ok with that.

Who's gonna get it and which version?

RELEASE DATE: 9/1/09

I'll probably pick it up, but i'm really hesitent about the track list. I liked GH3 track list mostly, I liked GH4 less and honestly I like GH5 even less.  Also some of the expansion track lists(Metallica) also don't interest me. GH series outside of GH3 and the PS2 Rock the 80's(don't have) only have slim pickings of what I like.  This is how I put it. There are fewer songs in RB2 that I activily dislike than there is in GH4. So I stand with outlawauron on the opinion. Though I will still probably get it.

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

I will be picking up the wii version. I was considering getting rockband 2 for my 360 but after I heard of all the stuff that was in GH5 in wii, I think I'll stick with GH on Wii. Oh and gansito from what I've read the DS connectivity sounds like a cool feature. I don't know if its useless, Don't be a fanboy.
