Forums - Sales Discussion - FIFA 08 individual format sales

Since FIFA 08 is the Madden of europe I thought it might be sensible to list the individual format sales (that we know) for the biggest PAL markets since this should give us some idea as to which systems the casual gamers are buying.

So which game is the best alternative to Mario Party 8 on any console?

To make this one tougher you are not allowed to name any other Mario Party game.

Crash bash on PS One still one of the best ^__^''.

In UK (Fifa sold about 385,000 units) it looked like this:
PS2 - 44%
Xbox 360 - 26%
PS3 - 20%
others (PSP, Wii, PC and DS) - 10%

PS3 versions sold well compared to Xbox (much better than Madden). PS3 lost in Uk by not much, won in Germany hardly (5th to 6th place in Germany chart), won easily in Spain (3rd to 10th place in Spain chart) and also won in Austalia.
That shows that there is a place for 3rd party games on PS3. At least in Europe.

But possibly if Halo 3 wasn't released on the same week, Xbox Fifa would do a bit bitter.

Enjoy waiting until Spring 08 while PS3/360 owners play the game in 3 weeks.

I think it's more likely that the Wii owners are buying the PS2 version.

Is that why Ninjabread Man sold out in 3 days?  The PS2 version of the game is hovering around 31% on Gamerankings and it's doubtful that the Wii version will do much better considering it a port.  You're going to have to come up with a new knee-jerk excuse.  The real reason might be that the current Wii installed base doesn't appear to be interested in simulation team sports games.

Personally I don't want to play a soccer game with a Wii mote, and I understand why the Wii version isn't selling as well (I won't buy Winning Eleven on the Wii unless it has standard control options). Soccer is a game played with the foot so using a wii mote hardly increases the interactive feeling. The biggest thing to note is the PS2 version is the best selling everywhere, and probably by a wide margin. I don't really care much though as Fifa is overrated as is nothing compared to the superior Winning Eleven series.
