Mike B, we have no idea which countries ioi includes in Others or which in Other Europe, or in fact which countries might be included in with larger neighboring countries (the American charts definately include Canada and Mexico...and possibly the South American countrys)
It's probable that all three systems are undertracked due to lack of info for some countries, PS2 is probably undertracked worldwide by a million or two just because ioi will be focusing on places where current gen is available even though last gens PS2 will be available in more countries.

im talking about the endless whining about ps3 numbers being off. Now if it actually was the case that it would be off OKAY, but this is just another shipped number..sigh..

It's interesting that Halo didn't top Spanish chart, especially becouse it's individual format chart. In UK Halo 3 beat Fifa's all format's sales but in Spain it couldn't even manage to beat PS2 only version. But maybe if regular, Legendary and Limited version were counted together it would be on first place?
Fifa PS3 also easily beat Fifa Xbox360 (3rd position to 10th), even if there are more Xbox consoles than PS3 in Spain (acording to vgchartz number). Im pretty sure than most Xbox owners were busy buying Halo 3 this week but nevertheless the distance between those version is surprising.

HS is down from first position to seventh, it's not good but there are a lot of new positions on the list, so I think it's not that bad either. Unfortunately there are no numbers.

In fact ,since mid July there are more PS3 in Spain that 360 .I think that all versions counted Halo 3 must be the best sold game in Spain this week .

I think that ioi just changed the numbers for Spain.
Now it's:
Wii - 267,793
PS3 - 236,040
Xbox 360 - 200,810

Also sales this week hardware sales are very good for PS3.
Ps3 - 5,235
Wii - 3,728
Xbox 360 - 2,973

I just want to provide additional information in an effort to help improve the accuracy of VGChartz as I often use this website as a source myself. IMO this should be applauded on a website like this, the more accurate VGChartz becomes the more credible it is to use the website as a source.

Personally I still qualify the PS2 as "current gen", for me the platform still sells too well to clalify as anything other than currently still viable console hardware, sales wise. This year the PS2 is selling more units in the Benelux than the year before!

News Report 24 September 2007 (consumer sales):

100,000 PS3
2 million PS2
430,000 PSP

Comparing this to VGchartz data around the time,

23 September 2007:

Other Europe:

158,251 PS3
3,051,233 PS2
556,824 PSP

If VGchartz' data is correct,

The Benelux Playstation sales accounts for:

63.2% of PS3 sales (!)
65.6% of PS2 sales (!)
77.2% of PSP sales (!!)

in "other Europe". Doesn't this sound to be quite a bit off?

Also Scandinavia data seems to be off, VGChartz contineously lists the Wii as outselling the PS3 there.

But with regard to Sweden, the biggest Scandinavian console market (11 /09 /2007):

"PlayStation 3 software has sold just over 93,000 units or EUR 5.4 million, while Wii titles have moved over 82,000 units or EUR 4.1 million." (based on tracking data)

With regard to Denmark (Maxconsole, 19 /08 /2007):

"If you thought that the PS3 starter pack was just a marketing gimmick that wouldn't be noticed by Europeans, then think again. According to a Danish website, sales of the PS3 are outselling the Wii by a ratio of 3.5:1 and the Xbox 360 by 6:1 in Denmark. This is all supposedly as a result of the new starter pack which was introduced by Sony. "

This while VGChartz around the time reported about twice as many Wii sales as compared to PS3 sales for Scandinavia.

So, IMO it seems the PS3 is undertracked in Scandinavia in comparison to the Nintendo Wii.
