If the pre-release coverage is good, you can see what a game is like from that, but just walking into a store and saying "Hmmm, I'll buy that" is something I don't do. I used to, but not anymore. Mainly when the game I wanted was out of stock.

I don't think I have been disappointed by any of my PSN games at all, I trust Sony to deliver quality, and they do 90% of the time. Anyway, there was fantastic coverage in previews, there was no doubt it was going to be a good game, and it is!

They seriously need to fix those servers though. And a longer SP campaign and better AI would have been nice.

Uncharted was unproven when this gen. began. I bought the game on the first day simply because I had played the demo a week earlier and knew it would be massive. The same applies for Lost Odyssey. It was a new, unproven, IP. However, simply looking at screen shots, reading about it, and knowing that it was made by Mistwalker was enough to warrant the first day buy.

Little King Story was the game I was thinking of when making this (but there are dozens of others *coughLAIRcough*
