Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I've plugged my Wii on a HDTV!

And it looked like shit!!!!! Blurry image with ghosts, bad framerate on the games, lag in the wiimote control - mainly in the pointer, it was impossible to play the conduit - this using the standart scart cable bundled with the console.

Anyone can tell me if with a component cable the image can look crispy and normal (despite of the jaggies) like on a SDTV, or it is the TV's fault?

If a component cable fixes it, which one would I get?

Well, the Wii isn't an HD console.

did you adjust the settings on your wii for wide? do that if you have not. and if you still do not like it try the component cables, they will make the picture better, but not HD good. But i bet you have not set it to wide. I have wy wii hooked up to a HD tv and it doesn't look like you described

Yeah, Wii looks terrible on an HDTV (even with component cables).

Widescreen has nothing to do with it. (though of course if his TV is widescreen it should be on widescreen... but it has nothing to do with HD/SD differences)

Get component cables(I assume any will work). It looks fine in 480p but Im no graphics whore. Ghosting and pointer lag is due to your tv.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

reminds me of when i played RE4 on my PS2 it looked awful

Even with the component cables the lag will remain? And ghosts? :S
