Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will the GTA IV DLC ever come to PS3?

Well the 2 DLC packs have been announced for 360, 1 has been released, with the Episodes of Liberty City disc announced, with enough content for a small GTA game (I would assume), is there still a chance of those DLC packs coming to PS3?

I assumed that the Lost and the Dammed would have been announced for PS3 by now, but with Episodes of Liberty City, I doubt they would want to harm the sales of that by announcing a PS3 version, and would it be too late to announce them in 2010? They might be announced at GamesCon, but as I said, I don't see it as very likely

There are rumours of more DLC coming next year instead of a new GTA game, so the existing packs might come then, so there is some chance, but should I just get that disc for £25?

AFAIK, Lost and the damned is an Xbox exclusive since MS paid Rockstar for it.

But this gen exclusivity means very little apart from if it is published by Sony/M$, even then, NG II was published by M$ and is basically coming to PS3

Couldnt care less even if it does.

Next year dude, it's always one year.So by the end of next year you'll have it

But war... war never changes

but NG wasn't brought off as an exclusive....

I hope it gets better since I haven't finished it yet, but so far I'd say you aren't missing that much. The lost and damned story is interesting but not as fun as playing as Niko in the main game. Like at the end of that game, most of the missions get repetitive. I did have a blast doing the races and nailing the other bikers with the baseball bat. GTA needs something to bring some more variety into the missions. Like the one where Niko goes to the job interview, that one cracks me up.

Before anyone gets their hopes up. With exclusive additional content it is widely assumed that they are purchased by Microsoft. However we have never had real confirmation of this. For many of the more colorful members of the community this is the only justification for a developer to not also port the content to the PS3. That isn't necessarily the case mind you.

In any event Microsoft may pay for some timed exclusivity. However they never openly talk about it. Except with this particular content. Which they paid out fifty million dollars in advance for. The fact that they played that up in the press is a pretty good indicator that it is bought outright. Not to mention I find it hard to imagine Microsoft spending that much on a timed exclusive so that Sony could get it without paying.

From most stories and rumors we read. Microsoft refuses to pay for anything that is even in the remotest sense connected to PS3 game development. Which is basically what they did with this cash advance. They paid for the development in not so many words.

The answer is no. No need for wild assumptions or convoluted logic to get that.

@ dodece, I thought it was only a loan, not just a gift, and given that the main game already works on PS3, and slightly better with install, it would be very easy to port it
