I can understand sony fans sticking up for there console it is a cool gaming machine
But considering sales expectations and lost profits from previous gens it is a failure at this point.
First party software has sold ok not great.

This might change in the future when costs come down and if software sales pick up

The "They Will Do It" in my post does not mean I think they will pull the plug on the Ps3, it was a response to being asked "Do you really think they will support the Ps3 for another 7-8yrs" To which I replied

The PS3 has already started to become profitable.  It costs less than $400 (Just under $300 if Sony's Executive Vice President Nobuyuki Oneda's comments are correct) to make, so they have started to make profits on it.  Of course let's just look away from Microsoft's losses.  In 2007, they lost almost 2 Billion because of the 360.  In 2008, they made a profit of 426 million.  Sorry but that's still in the red, overall.
