where is the graphics don't matter and innovation and gameplay are more important?

while iphone is not powerful it support multitouch and have a accelerometer (like all mother phones).

thats where the ds comes in. and btw we're discussing power, not how fun the machines are.

so the iphone it's better than the DS and have touch screen thats mean it's better right?.

iphone have a  800mhz ARM Cortex 8 cpu  underclocked ot 600mhz and a PowerVR 200mhz capable of ps2+ and VGA 60fps recording.

by numbers  it can give good fight to the wii, just developers probably will never have to budget to.

you think the iphone is better than the DS? ill just pretend i never even wasted that 10 seconds trying to remove your blindfold.

hardware wise, yes, the touchscreen it's multitouch and so it gpu and cpu.

what it lacks it hardware buttons and games.

Specs wise iPhone is at least on par with wii. I just don't get why people are saying that they don't believe it untill they see SMG like graphics on iPhone. You just have to wait for when a developer puts as much effort on a game.

edit:

Nevermind, I was misinformed. Wii is more powerful.

Well unless someone makes an iPhone game with a budget of say 5 million+ dollars we will never know...

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Seems to me he's blaming the Wii hardware for a subpar effort his team made on the console. As someone else said, iPhone's specs are used up doing numerous functions, with Wii using all its power on the actual game. That means if you put the effort it, you'll get better results on the Wii. They just didn't put the effort into the Wii version and are trying to blame the hardware.

I'm just curious what the developer is basing this on. It can't be obvious because I haven't seen games of near the graphical quality that Wii can put out, but then again I don't know if any iPhone game has gotten the effort and money put into it that the Wii's top games have.

What's his reason for saying something that seems so counterintuitive. He develops for the Wii so it's doubtful he hates it, though possible.

The only justification I can think of, is that he believes the iPhone is more powerful for games running at 480x320 than the Wii is at games running at 720x480. Obviously the iPhone would perform much worse than the Wii if it was having to render games at over twice the resolution, but given it doesn't have to, it appears more powerful.

Never argue with idiots
They bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience

Everyone with an ounce of technical understanding knows that the Wii is MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH more powerful than the Iphone. You can't even really compare. End this discussion please, the programmer at Telltale was just being cocky and pissed at Nintendo for the WiiWare limitation of 40 MB and not enough RAM for him to decompress everything into memory.

The 40 MB Wiiware size is what makes Tales of Monkey Island look and sound bad, not the power of the console.

this thread is a joke, Matt is probably laughting at so many people arguing over this, and i'm wondering why the guy still has a job? I mean he's 80% of the reasons I don't read IGN's reviews anymore... free bashing every other line like a 4 year old with the brains of a 1 year old.

That said, Iphone games have enough punch to compete with both the PSP and the DS easy. (lacks a few buttons but does well with the accelerometer and touch screen).... and at 0.79€ a pop it really is easy to let yourself be tempted ^^

OoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoO

Well if some people believe in it, let them be delusional.

This generation proved that power and specs mean nothing to majority of customers (Wii vs HD and DS vs PSP)

Has it ever occured to you guys how much development time was given for the iPhone games?
How many gigs the game was? How much the price was? You can't compare screens from a $50-60 dollar game to a $5-10 dollar game and accurately make a "Which is stronger" answer. That's like saying PS3 has sucky graphics because "Flower" can't beat Gears of War 2.

Personally, I think the iPhone 3gs can pull off better graphics against the Wii considering it's screen size. The psp can only do 333mhz ang I'm assuming a weaker GPU considering it's age and it can still pull off games like GOW, Tekken DR and GT.

Of course controls is a different matter alltogether.
