Forums - Nintendo Discussion - IGN: Sparking Flame Warz between Wii and iPhone

Most of that power will be used on having to support an operating system.

On another note, has anyone played doom on the iphone? huhhhhuhhhuhuhuhu, playing that game with those controls made me shudder.

That's why PC games have enourmous recommended specs compared to the same games on HD systems. Although there is an improvement in framerate and resolution, you need specs even higher than the recommended.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

The OP left off this damning addition:
This is not going to go over well for Wii owners who still don't believe the GameCube 1.5 specs IGN posted about Nintendo's console prior to its release. If you fall into that group, fret not -- we're sure the hidden potential just hasn't been unlocked yet. Someone flip the HD switch, please.

Casarassafrassa is such a troll.

Wow, that is a troll.

Nah, he's a Wii fanboy.  He's also an iPhone fanboy.  He may just be a bigger iPhone fanboy than he is a Wii fanboy.

OMG teh Wii is t3h suxx how dare you compare teh iPhone to that toy iphone is lightyears ahead.

Is there really a flame war that looks like that on the site mentioned in the OP?

I LOVE ICELAND!

Last year, many developers (including John Carmack) have said that the iPhone's power lies between the DS and the PSP. The PSP is said to be almost as fast as the PS2. This year's iPhone 3GS is about twice as fast as last year's iPhone, according to all reviews and looking at the specs. So it is probably faster than the PSP and about as fast as the PS2. The PS2 being slower than the GameCube and the Wii being 1.5 times as fast as the GameCube the iPhone 3GS is probably half as fast as the Wii.

The problem of course, besides the lack of big budget titles, is that developers are not yet optimizing for the new iPhone 3GS because just 3 mio or so of the 45 mio iPhone/iPod Touch users own the new model.

Hardcore gaming is a bubble economy blown up by Microsoft's $7 $6 billion losses.

Anyone have a link to the original forum?

Because it appears from this comment in IGN that something may be missing

Even after the dude himself said he was being completely facitious to make a point, and said the iphone is no where near as powerful as the wii, the stupid march on, convicted in ignorance and fueled by hate. [-] Minimize Comment

Yes, even game developers can be dumb people.
Gotta teach something about electronics to that little boy at Telltale Games.

And by the way, iPhone is more powerfull than GOD!!! B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Honestly who cares what some developer at TellTale Games thinks? The studio isn't even among one of the Wii's bigger supporters. They don't make any solid games for WiiWare and I highly doubt they will ever become one of the bigger studios. So who cares what one developer at one studio thinks about the Wii. We all know the Wii is more powerful then the I-Phone so lets leave it at that
