Red Steel 2 Now Shipping In 2010

Ubisoft's first-person shooter won't be coming this Christmas.

July 27, 2009 - Talk about a bad news day for Ubisoft.

The company announced this morning that it saw at 50% decrease in first quarter sales, as well as a number of game delays.

Red Steel 2, which originally was scheduled for release this calendar year, is now being pushed to fourth quarter fiscal year 2009-10, which begins on January 1, 2010.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot isn't happy about the delays, but says the company is thinking about its beneficial long-term effects.

"We are disappointed that we have to postpone the release of several major games but we consider that this choice is the best one in the long-term interests of Ubisoft," he said.

 

 

SUCKS! But if they need to delay it, I'd rather they make the game right than release it half-baked. What could they be doing? Local multiplayer maybe??

Haha Modern Warfare 2 is doing a great job of keeping these other games away. Other wise just wait till next year.

They should've released it. MW2 won't affect games that are on another platform.

oh well, i can wait but i probably wont be able to buy it on launch day now, which sucks

@c03n3nj0: if a person owned both a wii and 360, and were only going to buy one game, they are more likely going to buy MW2

@ninjablade360: yeah mario is coming out nov i think, at least thats what my gamestop said. mario is strong enough to take out any wii title that doesnt have wii in the title so yeah its probably a good idea not to send it to its death

A lot of E3 reports said it lacked a bit of polish in the control department, and though it was fun it was a bit repetitive. Hopefully Ubi if working on making this with "Nintendo-Like" quality....

One can only hope....
