Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Anyone else disappointed with Wii Sports Resort?

I enjoy the flying game most actually - the subtlety in the control is amazing as you go flying down the volcano and out a narrow cave.

Reminds me of the step up in control the analog stick brought to Pilotwings 64.

I don't own the game, but it seems odd to be disappointed that the sequel to a thrown together tech demo is another thrown together tech demo.

While I don't think that Nintendo has fully fleshed out the ideas presented in either game, I don't think it is particularly fair to call either game a thrown together tech demo ...

Many of the Wii games are designed to around a different set of principles than most other games, and as a result the "depth" of these games may not be obvious to someone who plays them like other genres. Many of the Wii games are designed to be experienced in short playsessions over a long period of time from people who are looking to master the gameplay mechanics. While it (may) be difficult for some people to apprieciate, some people will spend hundreds of hours trying to get perfect scores on all of the mini-games in all game modes; and may even play hundreds of more hours in local multiplayer.

A tech demo is a game that has very little value beyond showing off the technology, and I hardly think a game where people will put in 20 to 200 hours in can be said to have little value.

Oh right, this is out now huh? I should probably get it.....

Oh, one more LKS sidequest shouldn't hurt.

Swordfighting, Table Tennis and Dogfights are fantastic for multiplayer. Motion+ works great and most of the modes are fun (except cycling).

Well, you're from the UK and it's been well documented that the wii motion plus units in the UK are defective.

Lol has that been prove?  I thought the consensus was just that those of us in the UK are rubbish at tennis and that translated to a very low ranking in Grand Slam Tennis.

I think the poor user review scores at amazon.co.uk prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt. There are 10 five star reviews and 11 one star reviews. This statistically proves that the failure rate on the device in the UK is a little over 50%.

really now? i thought the british were pretty good at tennis.

just shows what i know......

OT: you're not alone, but there aren't many others like you. if you don't like the game, you could just sell it and get Tiger Woods 10. there are more games coming that support WM+, so it's not a total waste.

This is the correct answer.

At OP.  I bet you suck at Grand Slam Tennis, don't you?
