Okay, where were the flaws in Wind Waker? Other than you not liking it for whatever reason, there weren't many flaws to the game, it was near perfect IMO.

Technically, no. Game design, many.  1- its the shortest of the zelda games, 2 - the art direction nearly broke the game for me outright 3- much smaller dungeon maps. It was to me, the most casual/introductory zelda of them all.

In other words, Wind Waker was to the Zelda series what Episode 1 was to the Star Wars movies.

While I did still like Episode I, I think its a fair comparison.

The only ones I've played are MGS4 and OoT. MGS4 was really cool, and the story is unbeatable, but the gameplay was pretty convoluted and there wasn't enough of it to really get the hang of it. I've played the orignal MGS (PSX) four times though, love it. I would say that the original is almost worth a perfect score.

OoT I downloaded recently on my Wii, and it may have aged well for someone with fond memories (I know the story, I have 16 hours into FF4 on my DS right now and I just got it) but for someone just picking it up now, it looks pretty bad. And do not get me started on the babbling when you talk to someone. It sucks too, because everyone says it's awesome, but it's just going to be too hard to play it. There's the guy with 3 posts take on this. LOL!

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Eh, I can see why, but I'dve given it a 9, docking a point for things not being hidden as well as earlier games, thus making it feel easier.
Soul Calibur (DC) I'm not a fighting game fan, so I'm not going to pass judgment on this one.
Vagrant Story (PS1) Decent, and with a nice mood and setting, but the structure felt stinted. Another 9 game to me.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC) This continued in the tradition of too easy. I'd say 8 this time.
Nintendogs (DS) I've not played this, but I'm incredibly skeptical.
Final Fantasy XII (PS2) Trying different things is good, I think. 10's sphere grid was a nice idea, but expanding that to the license board is a no, to me. That, plus the other action changes, makes this a 7 in my eyes.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) Again, not my style of game, so no opinion.
Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) I'll say with conviction this is the worst in the list. I've seen enough of this "game" to know what I think of it, yet stating my opinion on it around here seems to be warnable. It's a 3 at best, and I question I'd even give it that much.
428 (Wii) I'm not going to lie, I'm quite intrigued by this game. It's style and replayability leaves me skeptical of a perfect score, but I'd not know for certain until I play it.
Dragon Quest IX (DS) If they fixed the few problems from the past few, I can see this. 8 fixed many of 7's problems, so if they kept going in the right direction, then yes, I'll agree.

This thread has sealed my opinion that gamers give far, far too much significance over numerical scores in game reviews. They are a useful general guide, but the important part of a review is discussing the actual gameplay and such. Furthermore, quality being subjective, different people will give different games different scores. I've sunk dozens and dozens of hours into a game that has a 59% on gamerankings (Victoria for PC).

In short, I feel quibbling over the numerical summary of a game is silly. Arguing vehemently over the internet even more so.

Then you won't like this place very much!

I agree that reviews are only a numeric value without much substance. I've played, and loved, my share of low rated games. On the flip side, my list of games I find to be utter crap but that got good or even blazing reviews, is ever growing. Needless to say, I don't take reviews very seriously any more.

I like FF and MGS so i will say both MGS4 and FFXII deserve perfect score. I did'nt like Zelda so i would not say it deserve it although it is great. Eveyone has their own opinion. Simple as that.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Will always remain perfect as it ages
Soul Calibur (DC) I agree. Still the best fighting game I've played
Vagrant Story (PS1) Never played
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC) Not quite a perfect in my book
Nintendogs (DS) Never played
Final Fantasy XII (PS2) Never played
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) Of course
Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) Never played
428 (Wii) Probably never will play
Dragon Quest IX (DS) I'll let you know sometime next year

360 Games Now Playing   360 Games unopened:  Resonance of Fate  Last 360 Game I Beat: Resident Evil 5

DS Games Now Playing: Dragon Quest VI  DS Games unopened Knights in the Nightmare, Etrian Odyssey III, Okamiden, Dragon Quest IX Last DS Game I beat: Radiant Historia

Wii Games Now Playing  Super Mario Galaxy 2, Arc Rise Fantasia  Wii  Games unopened  Little King's Story, Sonic Colors, Silent Hill Shattered Memories Last Wii Game I beat: Sin & Punishment 2

Dragon Quest IX got a perfect 40?

From the games I've played I strongly agree with OoT, it was and still is an awsome experience. Wind Waker was very good, I loved the style and the feeling was 10/10. As a whole it may not be a 40 though. Brawl was good but I never got into it like I did with Melee. Final Fantasy XII does NOT deserve that position in my book, it's probably the worst FF I've played (maybe better than FFI...). Switch with FFVI.

Resident Evil 4, Chrono Trigger and maybe Super Mario Galaxy and Valkyria Chronicles should be in that list imo. Oh, and the Metroid Prime games XD. MP 3 should be a 45 atleast.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) - The best game ever made, perfect.
Soul Calibur (DC) - Agree, the best Soul Calibur game.
Vagrant Story (PS1) - Agree, the best PS1 RPG/Adventure.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (GC) - No, this game é very goob but Ocarina of Time is better.
Nintendogs (DS) - I loved dogs, but never played.
Final Fantasy XII (PS2) - Agree, the best Final Fantasy after FFVI.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Wii) - Agree, the best fighting game of this gen (until now).
Metal Gear Solid 4 (PS3) - Agree, an amazing game.
428 (Wii) - Never played.
Dragon Quest IX (DS) - I did't play yet, but reviews is very good.
