Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will Motion+ go the way of the Balance Board, Wii Speak?

Nintendo will use it where it makes sense. As I said, Zelda is supposedly going to use it. Obviously there is no real use for it in Mario Galaxy 2, or NSMBWii unless they make radically new control schemes for these games. The Zapper was made for 3rd parties, as Nintendo doesn't really make shooters, but Sin & Punishment may be compatible with it.

Until we hear of new games from Nintendo, it doesn't look like they have any plans to use them. But if they do make a game that lends itself well to one of the peripherals, I'm sure they will add the support.

Wii motion plus already has the most support doesn't it?

Virtua Tennis, Grand Slam, Tiger Woods and Sports Resort. Red Steel 2 and Zelda are announced and let's hope LucasArts announces 'the lightsaber game' next week.

The balance board is limited to certain kinds of games like the vitality sensor will be whereas M+ can improve every motion controlled game available and some non-motion games too. M+ in WSResort will show everyone how Waverace, Pilotwings, Starfox (maybe) can be improved. Sword fighting is currently my favorite fighting game, I haven't touched SF4 since. I also want to see Soul Calibur with M+ and every other game that has swords, axes, baseball bats, (project) hammers.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Well, Motion Plus has been bundled with two EA games and will be bundled with an Ubisoft game this year alone. The Balance Board is only available with Wii Fit, right? Wii Sports Resort is launching, too.

The point here is: Despite being bundled with only one game, the balance board has a userbase of around 20 million. That's a GC/PS3 sized userbase, and it's only getting bigger. More games will utilise it, but it takes time to get to grips with new technology. Super Monkey Ball has just been announced, and that will utilise the board. Look how long it's taken some devs to get to grips with the Wiimote itself. Wii Fit Plus is also coming this year.

So if Motion Plus is already bundled with 3 games this year, including what could potentially be the biggest game of the year, and will be bundled with at least one more game this year, it's going to be successful. It already has more bundles than the balance board, and higher profile third party support than the balance board. And if Nintendo make the next iteration in one of their biggest franchises (Zelda Wii) M+ only, then I think there's no doubt they intend on supporting the peripheral.

Once you play Sports Resort, particularly the Island Flight, jet ski, sword and archery games, you'll realise just how much M+ can do. Expect more polished versions of these control schemes to be present in various Nintendo games, starting next year.

As we discussed before, WM+ is more of a core technology to what Nintendo wants, moreso than the other accessories. I would go as far as to say the BB is about as supported, if not more supported, than the Wii Zapper, for example.

Given the third-party support and anticipated first-party support for both the BB and WM+, I think they will have quite a bit of use.

What is amazing is the almost total lack of attention that anyone have given Wii Speak. There was nothing in the six months between Animal Crossing and The Conduit.

^ thats what I was thinking too.

Tres Tres sometimes you are worse then the trolls on this site, what are you doing on your free time? Finding more ways to get annoyed on Nintendo?

Also I want to add it´s not Nintendo´s job to support the hell out of their periferals, thay are there for 3rd party´s to use and Nintendo is a small company while keeping that in mind they are doing a great job of supporting most things they release (except for wiispeak so far).

Well, my question wasn't about caring or not about Nintendo releasing M+ games. My question was will they release these games or not? Judging by previous peripherals from previous gens and the present one, Nintendo is not willing to support them much. But this time is different, it's an enhancement of the motion sensing capabilities the Wii has and still they don't seem enthusiastic at all, with no new announcements at E3. Had this peripheral been important to them they would have released at least a couple more games along M+.

I think this is indeed going the way of the BB and WS. Vitality Sensor is arriving next year.

You just got completely shut down. Initially you thought that Punch Out!! and Wii Fit were the only games currently using the balance board. Then people start throwing Wii Music, and Rayman. Not to mention the many other fitness games that have been released by third parties, and the Mario game coming out to use it, Wii Fit +, and probably many other games in the future. The balance board has already sold 22 million units, and there is no reason for Nintendo to stop supporting it.

Yet somehow, you still defend your argument after being completely owned in your own thread.

It's not a mystery anymore for as to why you have a negative vg$ balance.

You lose, good day, sir!

Oh, and do your research next time, rather than being so stubborn and still pretending like you know what you are talking about even after every message in this thread proves you wrong. Know nothing.

Are you people blind? I'm talking about 1st party support. You are the worst kind of people because you don't read the OP properly. Just go away or read the OP, choose one.

Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.

Now I'm starting to doubt if smart*** like NFreak do know what the difference between 1st and 3rd party games really is. The point of the OP was one and then a flood of irrelevant posts come to attack me as if I was insulting someone's mother. If you have no clue of anything then just leave.
