Forums - Nintendo Discussion - High Voltage soon to show off the 'true potential' of the Wii

I would love to see a new game that pushed the limits of the Wii in a different direction. Something with a more open world effect. Something grand. Doesn't have to have HD quality graphics but some intense game play. That would be a nice game onto the Wii. And I'm one that truly enjoyed every minute of The Conduit. I just can't understand how much complaining there is on the graphics. Especially by people whom have DS games in their profiles?!? I can't stand those games much because I just don't like the idea of playing a NES handheld. On the other hand I'm not big on the idea of HD gaming on handhelds either... It's overboard in my opinion. I think the DS is a fine product but just can't play it or look at that screen after years of progressing with Consoles. But it's amazing how Conduit gets so much crap for graphics when in all honesty it looked pretty damn good. It may not have lived up to the hype or some of your expectations, but it looked damn good and it played great. I agree with the other poster in here that said graphics hit a plateau with the last generation of consoles. I know it's an enemy coming at me and it looks like an enemy. It's not a pixelated box of a different color so I know it's an enemy. The looks and feel of the game were superb and that was good enough for a true gamer. If you want pretty visuals on your TV go buy movies or CGI animation flicks. This is a world of gaming. Be happy to have a terrific game to play. HVS has my support all the way. Grinder looks incredible so far and Gladiator sounds awesome. We don't have MW2 coming but I we can find satisfaction in what's to come for the Wii. We need more gamers with this attitude in our gaming world. If developers weren't worried about larger budgets I bet we'd have more originality and story depth in all games across all consoles.

Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.

I'll wait and see. I wonder anticipate any games from these guys until they are proven.

I'm hoping Grinder is better than The Conduit, specifically in terms of art design and level design, as well as AI.

I'm not that interested in Gladiator AD. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'd rather HVS focus on Gladiator AD and The Grinder rather than spread their resources too thinly.

After playing The Conduit for about 30 minutes I don't even find the graphics so special. SMG for example still looks way better. They didn't push anything with that game.

graphics mean more then visual look. It includes physics.

WTF?! Physics are completely separated by visuals! Physics are the programmer's work, visuals are the artists'.

What did you expect? Bam, they suddenly turn in Valve's brothercompany. It's their first big IP. They need new blood and experience, which they  build up more and more with every new game they make.

Leveldesign isn't terrible butt bland here and there. I did read that the designers themselves sometimes didn't know how to exploit the new tech. Which for HV at this moment isn't really odd. Those guys didn't really do this before.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

No wonder the Conduit bombed. It wasn't pushing the Wii's limits at all.

I am looking forward to seeing HVS take more of some of unique aspects of the Wii. Though I feel The Conduit was far from Wii peak.
