The PSP game should give a good idea of how many cars are gonna be in GT5. Think about it, GT5 has been in production for ages in one form or another. GT PSP has not. It was being developed early on in the life of the PSP but quickly put on the shelf until a short time ago. How did they get so many cars in the game? Simple; they took all of the car capture data they had for GT5 and quickly developed PSP models. Expect GT5 to have just about every car from the PSP version.

That does make sense.

Remember GT5 will have tons of car to download, so, they could just release it with 300~500 cars and put all others to download. It won't be good to pay for anothers cars, but if they're cheap it's okay. I would be really angry if they made possible to buy cars that are already in the disk with real money. Imagine, it would be just paying 10 $ and get a Citroen GT as first car.

Ohhh shit:

I dont think PD would do anything like that.

Surely guys there is ALOT more important things about a simulation racer than the number of standard cars.

When are we gonna hear about the engines they have running the sim side of things. Also has the customization options for tuning and bodywork imrpoved? Can you have changable aerodynamic parts now, like available in real life for normal cars like a Skyline?

These are the things I would like to know.

The new physics engine for GT5p will be used (its excellent btw) and Im not sure about the customization side of things. GT5p however had enough interior customisation (dampers, spring strength, turning angles, aerodynamics etc) but the onlt thing you could do exteriorly was change the tyres and colour of the car. Im guessing there might be more in GT5.

Taz I hope your joking????!!!!!

The physics engine for GT5P had better not be used. That engine is a very long way behind games like GTR2, LFS, Forza 3 and Race Pro according to SimRacing ( specialist simulation racing website ). And the customization side of GT5P was very basic. Compared to the likes of GTR, Race Pro and Forza 2.

Surely GT5 will be radically different from GT5P in these areas, it has to be to even attempt being the most realistic.

Can you please show me via a link why you think it will use GT5P physics?!

lol people demand a lot in games now, i'd be happy with 200 cars in GT5

i think they toke those cars from GT4 and put it on PSP not GT5 to PSP.

they look extremely identical.

No, you hope Im telling the truth. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the GT5p physics, the cars handled like their real life counterparts and lap times were so accurate compared to real life times. That insidesimracing site is good, but theres alot of people who have driven alot more cars than them that said that GT5p physics were spot on. Saying that though, I think your right to expect some improvements. There is a video on Youtube from a friend of mine and it shows him on one side of the screen and Massa on the other at suzuka. Both cars handled the same, sounded the same, were in the same gears and set times with a 100th of a second difference. I dont care about this term 'physics', I just want realistic handling and ultra realistic lap times, and GT5 will have that. Forza is said to have better physics, but from videos I have seen of it, it still needs some work on realistic handling. If I was on my PC i'd link you to it, and you'd see. Anyway, this isnt GT vs Forza, so lets stay away from that. Internal customization was great in GT5p, but I expect some minor improvements. External was ultra basic in GT5p, but im not sure I expect improvements. It wouldn't be like PD doing Vinyls etc. Once I get my PC back, il show you links.
