Let's take the sum of opinions and call that the Sales... Looks like the people have spoken. And the features in WaW are not great.

Infinity Ward adds value that can't be summed up by a list of features. If you are relying on features then generally you are trying to cover up for the lack of quality in the basics of the game. One thing Treyarch seems to do compared to the higly respected Infinity Ward.

My god you are right, this is an amazing game.

Bundled. On PS3 last week, CoD 4 outsold CoD WaW, not that says something (as does the extra 10% on gamerankings)

what Treyarch did with WAW was make it more playable for people that aren't that good at Fps's, serious hardcore FPS players didnt like WAW and are therefore waiting for MF2.

So true. I find WAW easy compared to COD4

Because a game's quality has nothing to do with a bunch of bullet points.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.

To support Activision, one of the most passionate and hardest-working young publishers in the industry.

I hope this is sarcasm.

The only thing Activision seems to be passionate about today is money.

Somehow I double-posted.

But getting back to the OP -- people will buy it because it is new and fresh. Thus, there will be a great migration of on-line players to the new game. So a lot of people will buy, regardless of whether it is a step forward/backward/sideways/diagnoally.

This game will transcend the mere title "video game". It may not be exactly innovative, but it will be painstakingly created to be the best FPS ever (big hurdle, IW is in for a tough time), complete with an amazing story, huge, relatively non-linear maps, and a vast variety of locales. This won't be a "game" this will be a blockbuster (if MW2 is as good as IW is hoping).

Enjoy

I painstakingly played through the 'been there done that' single player campaign in WaW just to unlock Nazi Zombies. That would be my only motivation to get this game. No NZ = No game for me.

The extra missions designed specifically for 2 player co-op will be enough to make me happy for co-op, although I admit 2-4 players would have been better for this mode to include more friends. Of course full 4 player campaign co-op would have been great too even if it didn't make sense where the other character comes from. It never really bothers me, the co-op exp. always overshadows that.

Anyways, if the competitive multiplayer and maps are as good as MW1, then I'll be playing MW2 for a long time.

If you already have Nazi Zombies with WaW, why do you want MW2 to also have them?  Besides this, where would you fit Nazi Zombies into Modern Warfare?  It doesn't fit at all.

But, if the point is, where does the single player replayability come from, I am wondering the same thing.  What exactly drives a person to play the game single players more than once (or once at each difficulty level)?  If it is all multi-player, then why the heck do I need Modern Warfare 2? Why not get CoD4?  Is it because no one will be playing CoD4, and the entire community moved on?

I think people don't want a nazie zombie mode, just a horde like mode

It is not just MP. SP is great as well. It may be short, but CoD 4 had some of the best SP I have ever seen, I was genuinely sad at the end of the game. Of course they are going to improve multiplayer, just have not said anything about it, so people are assuming it is going to be identical
