Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Do You Think There Will Ever be a new Baten Kaitos on Wii?

I first want to play the first two in new play control with increased difficulty :)

I don't know if the Wii will ever get a new Baten Kaitos game, but I really hope so. I like those games a lot.

Jeezz.. How can someone like Eternal Wings better than Origins? >_<

Eternal Wings it's a great game... sure... but Origins is better in every way: gameplay, graphics/art, story, music, and especially voice acting (that was dreadful in Eternal Wings). Origins is the best RPG last gen.

Ohh... OP, I really do hope so!!!!!

EW had better gameplay (Seriously why did they change the battle system for Origins?).

The Graphics are about the same.

Origins

Eternal Wings

Story and music are subjective. VO was better in Origins, i'll give you that.

Origins only had 3 playable characters, EW had like 6.

EW had a card deck for each character, Origins your characters shared a deck, which made building a deck annoying.

EW > Origins

This guy knows what he's talking about.  EW battle system blew Origins out of the water.  Stories were about the same for me, but the gameplay is the most important factor.  EW just seem to have more depth with having each character have their own deck.  Origins one deck made the game too freakin annoying.

360 Games Now Playing   360 Games unopened:  Resonance of Fate  Last 360 Game I Beat: Resident Evil 5

DS Games Now Playing: Dragon Quest VI  DS Games unopened Knights in the Nightmare, Etrian Odyssey III, Okamiden, Dragon Quest IX Last DS Game I beat: Radiant Historia

Wii Games Now Playing  Super Mario Galaxy 2, Arc Rise Fantasia  Wii  Games unopened  Little King's Story, Sonic Colors, Silent Hill Shattered Memories Last Wii Game I beat: Sin & Punishment 2

I preferred BKO to EW. BKO's battle system annoyed me initially but once I got the hang of it, my opinion changed. EW's battle system was overly complicated. It caused battles to drag on. The story in BKO just seemed to be leagues ahead of EW. They way they managed to link it up to original was excellent. As I neared the end of BKO, I started to realize who Sagi and Milly were. It's kind of sad knowing what happens to them.

Monolith soft's specific mission as a first party is to create new franchises for nintendo. i think there will be a focus on new frnachises at least for this gen. once theve built up a series of successful franchises (a la intelligent systems) we may see them simply continuing those franchises. however from what ive read and seen the main view of the media is that they dont know what nintendo saw in the dev and that with disaster and monado monolith simply isnt proving to be worth the investment

EW battle system was overly complicated. I didn't mind it but it made even the standard battle last far too long. An enemy attacks you and you not only have to pull out a defense card, but you needed to have on that worked against that specific element. Attacks were the same way. The single deck in BKO was huge adjustment but far more efficient. In BKO, I rarely had a turn in which I didn't have the right card for the situation I was dealing with. In the original game it was  a frequent ocurrence.

I recently bought EW used, since I coudn't play any baten kaitos in the ol'gamecube days. Man, it's awesome, really hoping for a third installment on Wii, we deserve it! :D

Leaving the dream world, I'm waiting anxiously for Tales of Grace (since Tales of Symphonia is my favorite cube RPG)

I liked the first one way more than the 2nd one.

I don't know about that...

At first, I didn't like the Baten Kaitos Origin's battle system because it was so much more streamlined than the previous game.  Halfway through the game, I had no more qualms with it and thought it actually worked even better.  Then I popped in BK1 again a played from my save file and was blown away by how slow and plodding the battles were.  Yeah, BKO is much better.  Not to mention I enjoyed the story more - particularly the Melpercio storyline.

When the sequel comes - which I'm so hoping it will - I hope they model the battle system after BKO.

I'm sure no, may be on DS.
Sega is too busy with games like olympic games or touch games.
