People...GTAIV DOESN'T mean that it is the fourth GTA ever made...e.g. San Andreas & Vice City are TWO games that are part of GTAIII...there are others too...

it says the NEXT GRAND THEFT AUTO......It doesn't mean that it will be called GTAVII....It says NAME TO BE ANNOUNCED...for all we know this could be a sequel to GTAIV much like GTAIII did.

It doesn't mean that GTA7 is after GTA5 & GTA6...it means that the NEXT GTA game is the 7 made to date. 

Come on people. This is so obviously a big joke. It's in an Xbox Magazine, the blank cheque comment. Sony would never say that they paid money to put a game exclusively on their system and if they did say something similar they wouldn't mention a blank cheque. Sheesh.

Taken from the article:

"According to the November 2007 issue # 76 of the Official Xbox Magazine Sony has secured the next Grand Theft Auto, which would be number 7 in the series"

See if some of you could read and comprehend, it says the next GTA, not GTA7. Its more than likely a joke so don't get too excited.

I would expect NEGATIVE news about PS3 in Xbox magazine. Like, I don't know MS just gained exclusivity to the next GTA.

The series goes.

1. GTA
2. GTA II
3. GTA III
4. GTA III: Vice City
5. GTA III: San Andreas
6. GTA IV
7. GTA IV: ???

So yeah the seventh game is the next game.

By the time the next Grand Theft Auto comes out Microsoft will have the next Xbox ready an on the go.

its so sad people dont know that..  ps3 exclusitivity or not aside...its a shame  that we have to make a thread explaining to people all the games in the GTA series.. if you dont know that then you yal shouldnt even be commenting let alone be in here...

Are you guys nuts saying the 360 version is holding up the development? OTHER WAY AROUND!! The only version rockstar has been showing to the public IS the 360 version. The ps3 version HAS YET TO BE SEEN IN MOTION!! Wow, you guys are amazing sometimes.

(edit) oh yeah, forgot to mention, this is totally a joke. Obviously a good one considering how quickly the ps3 hopeful all jumped on it, haha 

It's not speculation, I read it in Game Informer. That the 360 version was holding things up, I mean.
