master chief isnt silent guys... but anyway my vote goes to gordan freeman : nuclear physisist with a crowbar who works for a mysterious man in a blue suit to fight aliens. nuff said

I see Master Chief mentioned but doesn't he talk? I thought I remembered him talking quite a lot actually in Halo 3.

Offhand, Isaac from Dead Space and Gordon Freeman from HL come to mind.

Giving a bit of thought, Mario, in the RPGs is pretty silent (and hilarious in SMRPG, when he acts everything out), and in the platformers doesn't say much beyond "It's-a me, Mario" and "So long King Bowser".
