Still looks ok,

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far

I care: :) The extra content isn't such a big deal to me, (the VA is) so if I have to wait for another 6-8 month for the PS3 version and it doesn't come with the original VA, I'd rather get the 360 version, this is like tipping the balance with a toothpick.

Thats a large piece of onscreen real estate to be missing!

And the demo do covers the full 720p. Dunno why this comparasion says its 576p. If it was it would have had black bars above or stretched images. Neither happened.

And besides... even if it had lower resolution... Im not getting an Xbox for a few pixels. I prefer not buying the game if the PS3 version doesn't get localized.

I'm not trying to say you're wrong for caring, and those are definitely valid points, but it's just always struck me as hairsplitting unless it's a Ghostbusters-esque difference (something even a Neanderthal like me can spot).

^^ For sure, a lot of it is hairsplitting, (hell even this is) however it pretty much fall into human nature that in a lot of cases you simply don't give a shit unless it effect you, i'm in a very small minority in this case which makes me care all the more.

Hey I bought SFIV and RE5 on the PS3, and both are meant to be 'inferior' in graphic to the 360 version*

That would be rather odd, are you sure it's not upscaling? As I've said, I have not play the game on any console so I have no answer, but it is hard to swallow that a big industry site like Eurogamer got something like this wrong...
