Forums - Sales Discussion - Pachter Interview: Submit Your Questions Now

Oh, I'm supposed to register on your forum and make at least 3 posts.

Nah.

A game I'm developing with some friends:

www.xnagg.com/zombieasteroids/publish.htm

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

Around the Network

who are you and what are you doing here!

How much does development on average Wii/PS3/360 games cost? What sales are the average break-even point?

Do you think 3rd parties should support Nintendo consoles with 'core' efforts?

Do you feel Natal/PS Wand pose a threat to Nintendo down the line?

Do you see game prices increasing as a whole?

Who according to your analyses will come out ahead this holiday season?

What can Sony do to recover from their current situation, in your opinion?

These are pretty good questions. I'll be sure to ask a few of these.

@Demotruk: Hmmm...I was under the impression that for his more general predictions (not the 20 page analysis that he writes)  he makes predictions based on what he would do if he were in their position(i.e its a prediction related to the corporate strategy). That said, I will be sure to ask your question.

So is there anyone here that doesn't hate Pachter?

Probably not, however I'd like to submit a serious question regardless.

A criticism of your analysis might be that you lean on the analysis of resources available to corporations (and I mean the term "resources" very generally here) moreso than you analyse corporate strategy, or how the corporation or it's products relate to it's consumers. How important do you think resources and strategy are in comparison to each other, and which is more worthwhile to discuss?

PREDICTION:

60M PS3's by the end of it's Life Span (Anything between 5 to 10 years)

Why did you estimate Natal's price to be so high at 50$?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.
