This just in: Diego Forlan was voted the best player of the tournament. Hm...do you agree?

Totally agree.

He practically carried Uruguay to the Semi's and was the joint top scorer of the tournament. Had a great WC.

I think Xavi/Iniesta deserved more, but Forlan isn't outrageous. He played great!

thomas mueller was bay far the best player

but this final was so bad, so many fouls

would have spain won , if the dutch got there corner right before the goal ? no one knows :D

My point exactly. I say Spain were the best side but the way they won was unfair from such as shit decision not to give a corner.

Ifs, buts... Netherlands should have been 9 at the end of the first half, so it's absurd to focus on only one decision.

And it was a relatively easy corner to give too. Also, I think the barrier was too close on that foul.

Agreed. But then again, I'm still saying if there was a referee who could see properly Englan d could have progressed against Germany. 2:2 and anything could have happened.

You were talking about an unfair win by Spain, not about the England Germany. It wouldn't matter, Argentina or Spain would have won against them.

A disappointing end to a really disappointing world cup. Worst that I've seen (since '98)

Oh well at least I was right about Spain being the only real contender for this world cup (look it up, I said it before the WC started)

I still think that Spain in this tournament was not even as close as good as in 2008.

Extremely happy for Thomas Müller, Golden Boot and Best Young player of the tournament. Straight from the 3rd Bundesliga.

Also congratz to Forlan. One of the few world class players who actually deserves to be called a "star".

I have to admit I was more dissapointed in this world cup than in the Germany one. Partly because there was less goals per game average and the fact that there was no atmosphere. Apart from the national anthems I couldn't hear English fans sing at all. Most the group games were slow and quite boring.

Also Im not saying this because England failed, they did so at Germany as well. Yet, I found that twice as exciting. In my living memory it goes:

Germany > South Korea/Japan > South Africa.

Heres hoping Brazil can exceed those listed above then hopefully England will get the chance to host the biggest compeittion on earth at the home of football.

^ Based on just one World Cup lol...

Italy and France keeps producing new talent. And they always have the confidence to win.

Based on 1 world cup you put spain first too.

italy and France arent producing youth at the minute, thats the point....  particularly france.

see the recent under 21 tournament.

France is a giant. They will produce. It's four years til the next World Cup.

I think it is more likely for Italy to produce good players in the coming years than France, but that's my opinion of course.

Yeah, Italy is even more huge than France. Italy is only surpassed by Spain and Brazil in the football world.

Italy is second to Brazil, then come the others like Germany and Argentina, and then the rest.
