Forums - Sales Discussion - Activision are idiots? PS2/PS3 accounts for 40% of all gaming revenue

According to Kotaku the PS3/PS2 combined account for 40% of all of Activision's gaming revenue in 2008, yet Activision let out a threat to sony not to long ago saying they would stop supporting the Playstation platforms all together in a year if something isn't done about hardware sales.

Then this came along..

True.

Though they lost about 6 million Chinese World of Warcraft subscribers. So I expect the MMORPG numbers to decline drastically in the 2009 report.

I think your math is way off. How is the PS2/PS3 40% of revenue? It seem only around 18% of the total revenue.

nice way to combine PS2 and the PS3.

Leo, there's no point even bringing it up again.

It was the emptiest of empty threats. Activision were never going to do it.

Well actually, they said only ps3 and that's a very small % of their total revenue. It's probably down as well in 2009. Now, I'm not saying activision is going to cut of support for Sony, but well... It wouldn't hurt them tbh. WoW makes a lot of money and other consoles sell better.

No they said cut support from Sony

Sony is

ps3/ps2/psp

Yh what idiots
