People have shown multiple times that the exchange between 299 pounds and american dollars is in fact over $600.
The reason it got destroyed is because you managed to mangle three currencies in one thread in a somewhat amusing fashion, this is the internet, people arent going to be nice. 

Also looking around you would realise that there are plenty of Sony fans on this site, I couldnt give you a proportion of Nintendo:Sony but it certainly isnt 19:1 like your making out. Out of the mods there are two that could be reasonably be accused of being Nintendo biased, Shams and Bk, two that could reasonably be accused of being Sony biased, Roadkiller and Ck one that could reasonably be accused of being MS biased, MrStick and the rest you cant accuse of being anything =

In any case I have never seen a mod use his powers in a biased fashion, they post their opinions (which automatically gives bias) but they never abuse their powers.

I think you should probably take a break from this site, calm down and maybe come back on tommorow. 

Hey people lay off leo-j, lets talk about what this thread was about and that is a £56 price cut on the 60GB PS3 and the introduction of the 40GB PS3 at £299 in the UK.

I think this price cut will mean that the PS3 will match 360 sales for the rest of the year worldwide, probably it will sell more. I will probably get the 40GB PS3 pretty soon.

I'm from the UK, and £299 is still too much for me to consider a purchase. I'm someone who has a high interest in games, is probably more willing to spend money on a console then some and earns £300 a month in a part time job. I personally can't justify that purchase.

I'd say £200 is the price point for alot of people, but even then alot of the more mainstream casual market will wait until it drops to about £150, if they haven't already got Wii's instead :/.

Can anyone imagine leo-j travelling to UK with his powerful dollar-euro banknotes? It cracks me up...

Yea, we should leave leo-j alone. He's only 15. I'm sure it was a honest mistake about all those currencies.

But I have to agree that those in UK and Europe do seem taken advantage of by Sony. Not only can they not import hardware and software from sites like lik-sang (now doesn't exist thanks to SCEE) and play-asia, they have to pay so much more. 299 pounds is still a lot.

 There's a much easier shortcut: Alft + F4.
