Forums - Website Topics - News articles look horrible..

I know I can't be the only person with this problem.

It doesn't matter what web browser I use, either.

Almost every single news article that's posted here on VGC is formatting horribly.  If I had to guess, I'd say about 90% (literally) have captions, paragraphs or pictures (or all 3) that extend beyond the boundaries set for them.

To the extent that I have to literally highlight text to be able to read it because it's on top of whatever is past the boundary (usually sales numbers).

Anyone else?  Or is it just every pc that I use (about 10 different ones) all coincidentally have this issue in common??

It looks absolutely horrid..if you don't think it's that bad, you need to take your VGC-Love glasses off.  If I hadn't been here as long as I have, I couldn't take this site seriously with obvious visual issues (on top of how long the site takes to load, which I can look past without other obvious issues like this..) like that.

I dont get the problem, what article did you last look at what did this?

do you use chrome? I noticed it recently with chrome, but it works fine in other browsers.

EDIT: and this doesn't mean that we won't fix it, it only means that we didn't know til recently.

EDIT 2: it helps if you link to an example rather than making blanket statements. It also helps if you post what setups you are testing on.

EDIT 3: obviously I missed one line saying it doesn't matter what browser, so.... what OS? Screenshots, anything to give us a better idea.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

I'd also like to report 2 things:
1. Some times the VG logo on the homepage appears two times - the one above the other
2. Sometimes the sublines of the page menu appear with a blank space between them making it impossible to select them

Honestly, I never see either of these. What setup are you running on? IE7?

The two logos (one above the other) happens sometimes when I use IE8.  I have already seen another thread mentioning it just awhile ago.

The sublines not "clickable" happens sometimes using IE7.

Screenshots or it didn't happen. None of that happens with Firefox (and to be honest, you shouldn't be complaining if you use any other browser, except maybe Opera)

Looks fine to me.

I've been having these issues too, it's not all articles, when using Safari 4.0.2.

The two I just checked that don't format correctly are:

Uboxing Call of Duty (by Gabriel Franco)

Walmart Gets PS3 Bundle (by Gabriel Franco)

I use a ppc mac, os version 10.4.11, I don't have a problem with Firefox.

The other thing I notice with Safari is that it can have loading problems with gifs/animations in sigs. (I now just turn them off!).

I have screen shots - just not sure how to post them.

Never had any problems on Vgchartz 2.0 to be honest. Everything seems sharper and better adjusted than it did before and the site has taken on the skin of the professional site its becoming!

PS: I always use Firefox, it rarely, if ever, has any issues.
