"wii motion plus may seem like true 1.1 but the sensor bar is some cheap bar that cant give the plus true 1:1 the sensing sucks n u often hav to recalibrate."

The sensor bar has nothing to do with Motion Plus. It only controls the on screen pointer... So what are you talking about?

it uses the sensor bar to detet where the remote is. It looks like you didn't do your research. wiki or google it n it'll tell you

This is true, 3D spatial detection can't be done without the IR sensor. However your basis of calling it useless without it is wrong.

Wii Motion Plus can work without the sensor bar.... it does so in Tiger Woods 10, you don't have to point at the TV at all, and could in fact play 18 holes if you unplug the sensor bar entirely.

Wii Motion Plus can detect 1:1 motion, so if you do a sword swipe it can replicate it..... on it's own it cannot detect the position you were in when you started of course... but if that mechanic is specifically needed in game, then the sensor bar and IR camera can step in.

Similarly the Natal camera is not just a PSeye, the PSeye is just a standard camera with a bit of software behind it so it can recognise movements.... the Natal camera is a 3D camera... so the software behind it can perform much greater tasks, we will have to wait and see how it will be implimented into gaming.

The PS Wand things are more like a combination of the Wii remote/WM+ (except minus the IR camera) but with the addition of a PSeye camera... the glowing orbs allow the 2D PSeye camera to detect their motion.

------

Basically what you are saying is "This technology isn't up to real life standards, therefore it must not work for games"
Well you have been proven wrong with the Wii already, and now with the WM+ already (and in fact with the eyetoy and sixaxis already, which are even more "inferior") and the other motion sensors will prove you wrong again later.

yep so true

there is always a limit

I understand that the movement has to be done by like an analog or something but everything else should be motion control.

But this will never happen. The technology will come yet the government doesn't want people to know how to kill people or infiltrate buildings or just do a significant amount of damage to human kind by playing so realistic game (with motion controls).

lol at conspiracy theorists.

Dude, you get better real life training with real weapons entering a real test building in an abandoned warehouse. The only person who is concerned about murder simulators is Jack Thompson and maybe a few paranoid European countries.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

"And sony just copied, due to their better technology their motion controller performs better than motion plus"

Not really. They've been working on the technology since the eyetoy was out. Actually, the eyetoy supported motion sensing as well. So technically, the eyetoy was the first periperal to support motion sensing gameplay in the video game market.

the Power Glove and Sega Activator say Hi!!

I personally believe that the Wiimote (with MotionPlus) and Nunchuck combo is still the best approach to a controller over the next 5 to 10 years in a large part because it is a hybrid solution ... Right now most developers don't know how to use motion controlls all that effectively, and the technology is still developing and getting better all the time, so the ability to fall back (to a certain extent) on buttons and analogue sticks give developers the opportunity to produce better games.

Many people can talk all they want about how conventional controllers are better, but with very few minor modifications the Wiimote + Nunchuck combo can do everything that can be done on a conventional controller as well or better.

the ps eye can sence depth it just uses a different algorithm, as the object gets "bigger" it is closer to the camera.  although the tech may not be as complicated/advanced as natal the information is roughly the same as what natal provides.

I don't think so. Since the PSE doesn't recognize your body but only forms, how would it make the difference between your hand getting bigger and a closed fist opening (therefore getting bigger) ? Put your hand in front of your head or your body, and the PSE is kind of lost in what it should recognize. That's why the games using it, as the eye toy, work in very specific situations.

It's only a matter of the informations/dats : the PSE is recieving 2D infos versus 3D infos for Natal.

Once again, look for informations from persons that actually USED Natal, and even test it, walking ahead/next to/behind a guy playing without interfering wiht its commands...

1. "Put your hand in front of your head or your body, and the PSE is kind of lost in what it should recognize."  and you point is?  natal has the exact same problem.  natal compinsates for it by taking the location of where the object was and which direction it was heading to infer where is should be when the object goes into a blind spot (i.e. your head being behind your hand).  the exact same algorithim could be applied to the eye toy.

2. "how would it make the difference between your hand getting bigger and a closed fist opening (therefore getting bigger)?"  the hand is really the only object on your body would be complicated as your head, elbows, knees won't change size in any way.  so if you want to know what sony is tracking your hands then ask the question, "why does sony's motion controller have those stupid looking balls that change color on their controller?".  it's a point of reference that gives the location of your hand to the ps eye.

now i know what your going to say - but that means you can't track finger movements?!?!   natal doesn't either, at least not as they showed it off.  it simply doesn't have the resolution to track fingers.  the natal2 might though.
