Forums - Gaming Discussion - the new motion controllers or controls dont look so advaned

if im reposting, sorry

wii motion Plus, playstation wand, n natal are a joke in a way

natal is the playstation eye; the eye can do all these things if programmed to.

the playstation wand really isnt 1.1, it just mimics it. the eye is doing like all the work its still a controller

wii motion plus may seem like true 1.1 but the sensor bar is some cheap bar that cant give the plus true 1:1 the sensing sucks n u often hav to recalibrate.

in the end, microsoft really did not come with new technology but a new concept (appluase), sony and nintendo dont really deserve it. Nintendo made motion plus simply beause the heard all the rumors of 1:1 controller going to sony and microsoft. And sony just copied, due to their better technology their motion controller performs better than motion plus

I guess those super advanced buttons are better? It's not about the tech, it's about what devs can do with the tech to create new experiences that people enjoy just like Wii Sports or Mario Kart Wii.

"wii motion plus may seem like true 1.1 but the sensor bar is some cheap bar that cant give the plus true 1:1 the sensing sucks n u often hav to recalibrate."

The sensor bar has nothing to do with Motion Plus. It only controls the on screen pointer... So what are you talking about?

it uses the sensor bar to detet where the remote is. It looks like you didn't do your research. wiki or google it n it'll tell you

No. Not at all in fact.

The PS Eye basically works in 2D, it doesn't really take in account depth and cannot "use", for instance, a push or pull gesture with you hand. It does not recognize your body either, but rather form, meaning somebody seating next to you in your sofa, facing the Eye, will interfere with your movement.

Natal does work in 3D, reading the depth of your movement (as you can read in the Natal/Burnout articles - something impossible with the PSE) and recognize bodies in a very detailed way. If you're a bit familiar with the tech, you know its just a whole different thing/level.

Coupled with facial recognition (that can, indeed be done by the PSEye i think) and the vocal part, it allow very interesting and very innovative things. More immersive than you've ever seen.

But it, of course, lies in the hands of developpers.

the ps eye can sence depth it just uses a different algorithm, as the object gets "bigger" it is closer to the camera.  although the tech may not be as complicated/advanced as natal the information is roughly the same as what natal provides.

and yes, ps eye can do facial reconition.

we'll see what the developers do but i'm not convinced that natal can do anything that the ps eye can't...and quite frankly i think both of them are pretty limited.  i'm sure motion controlls will continue to advance for quite some time but for right now wether your using wii/motion plus, natal, or the ps motion controller all of them will be plagued with "quirks" (i.e. limitations) on how you can use it.

Sixaxis is da BEST!

Poor PS3 Sales Means Smaller Losses

"Actually, because the number of units sold was not as high as we hoped, the loss was better than our original expectation," Quotes from Sony’s CFO Nobuyuki Oneda.

I don't think so. Since the PSE doesn't recognize your body but only forms, how would it make the difference between your hand getting bigger and a closed fist opening (therefore getting bigger) ? Put your hand in front of your head or your body, and the PSE is kind of lost in what it should recognize. That's why the games using it, as the eye toy, work in very specific situations.

It's only a matter of the informations/dats : the PSE is recieving 2D infos versus 3D infos for Natal.

Once again, look for informations from persons that actually USED Natal, and even test it, walking ahead/next to/behind a guy playing without interfering wiht its commands...
