You guys are taking things too literally. He didn't mean pull all support. Obviously, the PS3 will still get CoD and GH. What MAY end up happening is that the PS3 doesn't get any new IP or risky (niche) games from Activision.

So how about we discuss the effects of that?

Since the COD franchise is... lets face it, the biggest selling shooter franchise on Playstation, neither Activision or Sony would ever allow it to happen.

but for the sake of argument,
if it did happen; I would seriously question how much Microsoft secretly paid Activision to;
1) Make all activision games MS exclusive and
2) Use PR to say its because Sony's console is too expensive and hard to develop for.

I dont buy Activision games. I like good games.

The real question is "how would this effect Activision"

and the answer is that it would effectivly drop their rank as 3rd party publisher and they would not be able to brag about being the biggest one anymore. that title would be forfited to their competitor EA.

call of duty 4 was probably the most played game on PSN, so it would be terrible if it lost Call of Duty.

But of course Activision wasn't serious. No way they would throw away all the sales Playstation platforms can give them.

thats a big if, because they wont. their software sells on teh ps3 and they turn a huge profit. of course they want the price to drop it just means more people to sell their products to

That whole Activision dropping PS3 support thing is the perfect example of why executives shouldn't talk to the media after snorting some cocaine.

The PS3 will go from being the GCN of this gen to the Dreamcast of the this gen.

Too bad it wont happen

It probably won't happen, but there is still a chance it could.
